@Mike A Facts, his style combined with his power and insane hit is very dangerous. Actually he hurt many armwrestlers including Brzenk. If you face this type of armwrestler and are not sure about yourself, it’s better to let it go and lose with your whole body to avoid injury.
@Weghweh Hwewehwhe yeh he can lmao, he is still a beast. Look at John brzenk he is like almost 60 and still destroying younger people. Taras managed to top roll brzenk who has wrist and hand made of iron, although Tara's didn't pin him, it shows just how much of an animal he is.
Taras has the Bagent strategy of ‘Screw what the other guy is gonna do. I’m just gonna be overwhelmingly powerful at MY thing!’ He has the timing and the power. Anyone who thinks a hook is more powerful than toproll should consider Taras as a case for the opposite.
Mr Taras Ivakins style I liken it as Almost Transitioning from a hook to toproll style, the fundamentals of a hook are there ( Cupping ) and yet the exposing of leverage like a toproll, a nasty combo he has mastered well!
Taras hooks first and transitions to a top roll next. One is cupping and the other is pronation. You pronate to eliminate his cupping and you cup to eliminate his pronation. You can't say one is more powerful than the other. They are opposed techniques better suited to different pullers.
John Brzenk hurt his arm beating this guy's top roll once for the middleweight title. That's why John was not at full strength when he lost to Voevoda in the overall.
Yes, I had watched a couple of years ago. I can't believe I missed this particular detail haha. I knew he was injured but I didn't know he was because of Taras. Maybe if he wasn't injured he could have beaten Voevoda, who knows. I should watch the documentary again I guess.
You are correct, he beat John off the hop but John held him for a while before going control and winning. He injured himself and it's a shame. I'd love to have seen him pull voevoda fresh
That Voevoda was too big, too strong and too good, Brzenk wouldn't have won anyway, not a chance in my view... And that "injury" was really blown out of proportion, yes Ivakin gave him hell and grilled John's arm a bit, but it's not like he was a cripple...
Jokk3asd No doubt, but Taras still won the match. And even though I admire Larratt's endurance, it leads him to a lot of injuries. I mean, you look at his rightarm right now and it looks done.
Taras is not gonna top roll Devon now or anytime later.. Maybe Taras was a little lucky that day. Listen to Devon Larratt's stories and you will understand everything and why he lost that match with him.
Jokk3asd Kind of ironic to say endurance is a force, because force itself is what drains endurance. More force = less time. However devon has both the mitochondria and the art in his training to have a lot of strength AND endurance
Taras is a machine, but characterising him as a a pure top roller is a mistake. He starts in a high hook and finishes with a top roll. However, he is so good at the transition that most people don't even notice the hook.
@@cruelleader4782 Its not just toproll , he starts with a small top hook , pulls the opponent back , and then breaks his rivals wrist , just because he finish with toproll , doesnt mean its easy and not unique..

Nice speech as the audio, btw. A good twist from the normal video format for armwrestling. Btw, did you see the video I made on my other channel on John Brzenk's "TIPS"? You might like that one.
@Power Blazr Come on man...Taras is a fit guy with big arms but he always was 92-98 kilos...if you compare him with the 6.3-6.7 and 130-150kg true heavyweights he looks small indeed.. It’s true Taras was a monster pound4pound
Great video. Taras "The Technician" Ivakin. I love Taras, but he's very one-dimentional. I liken his style to Bagent, but Bagent has a bit more endurance, at least in matches I've seen where their speed had been tested, or held for a while.
Yeah, Taras is pretty much a one-shit phony. Brzenk destroyed him so bad that Taras even tried hooking in the 6th round out of desperation, a move that he has no experience of, and a move that Brzenk is a master at. Bagent on the other hand has other things up his sleeve and he's much more explosive in strength.
@Hyaku Juu Brzenk destroyed him? Taras gave him hell and could win with another referee because a couple of elbow fouls Brzenk made not called.. Also Brzenk got injured in his elbow and showed the marks after the match.. If you think this is Taras “destruction” ok then suit yourself
When he faced denis .....You know what happened and that's why zhokh ,taras, and anyone uses mainly toproll have no chance against denis .His big hands and insane cup strength is untoprollable.
@Vaishali Gujar Denis was gassed to death before that match. No comparison between these two... That said , but it’s true it was Arsens best form then..no joke this huge version
You should watch the full supermatch of Devon vs Taras Ivakin, Devon caught his hit twice and got 2 pins. Taras's last win looked easy but it was a war.
@PrimeTime BX,NY Denis beat larratt in the most emphatic way I have seen in pro armwrestling. Literally toying with him giving him the position he wanted and still won 6-0
Not exactly..Taras gave hell to Brzenk and could probably win if some elbow fouls were given to Brzenk.. At least two times in different occasions Brzenk barely won him
How was it a squishing when John lost two rounds and the strain on his arm from this win was so big that he was injured and ended up losing to Voyevoda afterwards. So not really squished.
shadearca nah would lose easy anyway.. Brzenk had admitted that like a gentleman. FYI Voevoda had crushed Taras like nothing the same evening (Taras gave Brzenk hell) so..
Hi Raphael!! I've been well. How about you? Everything alright? It has been sooo long since we wrote to each other. So much happeninhg in my life in the last couple of months. You know, I was thinking about you from time to time. You know that song "Hed Kandi : thinking about you" :))) We have the same taste for music, I remember you know;)....kaskade- this rhythm is playing in my head right now:) You still have my email right? You still live in Houston if I remember correctly? Hope you reply soon my friend, I am soo happy to hear from you:) Be well my friend:)
Lol thats Tim Bresnan!! He is a very good Armwrestler. You must be a beginner in the Armwrestling world. That goggle guy has beaten John Brzenk ans he has currently also beat Alexey Voevoda 5-1 in the their encounter in Armfight 45 In Las Vegas Vendetta on 26th February 2016..!!!
treta yug im not a beginner anything... I don't watch this shit.... I saw a stupid video on john brzenk because I was bored one day and it had that dude in the glasses on it.... the guy lost every match in the video so I started looking for other matches he was in on youtube and found him losing every one there as well... so I made a comment asking if anyone has ever seen this guy win.... a couple responded, including you, that they have.... Yet none of you can show me a video on youtube of him actually beating someone. Lets see it....!!!
Not sure how long ago this was when he beat the living shit out of Larratt. He (Devon) looks quite young and less muscular so I'm guessing 15 years ago at least. I wonder how he'd fare against No Limits now? Does Taras even arm wrestle anymore? I only just heard of this guy recently and haven't done any research
With all due respect to mr. Alan Watts, maybe it's his conclusions that are outdated, maybe it's his whole world view that is illegitimate, whatever the case, it's not about chasing money, it's about leveraging it to get what you need. To do that, you don't even have to have it.
@John Brzenk Yes I know.. I remember that match and voevoda wasn’t at his best shape back then(and not as heavy) Its true voevodas wrist power and control was really something, i can only recall Travis hit in 2003 when he surprised him before he got smashed in 2004 by voevodas best ever version
