Targa or Taranga is a beautiful headgear that Kashmiri brides wear on their wedding day. The two pony tails that were tied during the Devgon ceremony are opened during the Targa ceremony and tied into two plaits. Both the plaits are then adorned with golden gota patti and parandas. The bride then wears a ‘Taeich’ (a golden cap) on her head that is decorated with a ‘Sheeshlath’ (border) then a ‘Zoojh’ (dupatta) is placed at the top. All these headgears are tied together and secured with pins made with pure gold.
