Historically I have not loved using pins on my target scopes. I know they work great for a lot of people, but it's just not been a success for me.
Fortunately after watching a video from John Dudley, I found a way to use dots on the lenses of my Specialty Archery Versa scopes without running into trouble the colors blending into the paper or 3D targets.

Great idea. I was thinking of getting the Spot Hogg Spark setup for the same reasons. I like pins, but they do get a bit fuzzy if I'm shooting the same colour target as my fiber. What sight are you shooting with?

I've been using the Black Gold Competition Sight for the last year, but I also run a Sure-Loc Supreme and Phoenix when I've got multiple tests bows in action.

ArcheryTalk I've spent the last month shopping for a target sight. I looked at the BG Competition several times. Looked good and solid. Tons of adjustability (I'd be lying if I said I understood all of it). For a click-adjust sight, I couldn't decide between it and the CBE Vertex 3D Competition. I snagged a CBE Vertex 3D Rapid Travel instead. I'm not gentle with my toys and CBE seems to build a solid sight. But also, without the clicks, I can use it for hunting in an emergency. Plus it's a little older, so a couple of bucks cheaper.

I really don't think you can go wrong with CBE. The Rapid Travel is nice if you play around a lot at multiple distances, as moving it is fast. The Sure-Loc Phoenix has a similar design.

ArcheryTalk Yeah, i practice all over the place. From 18m to the back wall. And when it's not busy, I spread the animals around and slay some foam! I'd spend a lot of time clicking, that's for sure.

I see you like Specialty scopes. Have you tried the Double Vision system?

I have not tried the Double Vision system yet. At some point I should probably mess around with it, but thus far I haven't felt the need.

What dot kits are you using? Also, do you need to run any illumination on the dots? I have a big .029 fiber which covers the 10 ring on a Vegas face, but the dots seem more workable for a multitude of options.

I've got some Specialty Archery dots, though any of them should work just fine. I do not run any illumination on the dots. I think another interesting option is a center-drilled lens with a fiber that sits in the middle. I haven' tried that myself, but I know some of them allow you to swap out the size and color of the fiber, which would be useful, depending on the color of your target..

@@ArcheryTalkVideo I have one of those lenses with the fiber through the center.. it feels too finicky to me. That thin glass with a fiber that Seems to never stay perfectly straight- even if it is if something brushes against it even im questioning its straightness. Don't like it

What do you run in your peep?
@ArcheryTalkVideo

Tony Nguyen I should have addressed that in the video. #1 1/8 in the larger 4X scope and #1 or 1.5 3/64 in the smaller 6X scope

Mostly. For indoor I’ve been experimenting with Specialty Archery’s Double Vision system, but I may go back.
