Hi Paul. The recoil on a real one would be much more. The replica has a .177" projectile weighing 7.4 grains leaving the barrel at about 310 fps, the real one has a 0.45" projectile weighing 230 grains leaving the barrel at about 830 fps. Resulting in a much bigger kick 🙂 Cheers, Alan.
Hi Alan. Quite good going for a smooth bore. I would have liked to see how well it grouped using a rest/steady to eliminate barrel waver. It showed you are a decent shot anyway and adjusted nicely. A real .45 or 9 mm kicks harder of course, but for an air replica this one performed very well. Cheers Rob
Thanks Rob. I know the pros use rests etc but I figured that most people will shoot the way I did so I think it gives a good representation of how accurate the pistol is. I'd love to shoot a real one but unless I travel abroad that isn't going to happen 😕 Cheers, Alan.
@@RetroSteamTech Hi Alan, I only shot a real one once out at the Police range. My cousin was a cop and he invited me out there to try a whole bunch of pistols - 357 magnum revolver, 9 mm Navy Colt, .45 auto of some brand. a .small 22 revolver for an ankle holster, and a sawn off riot shotgun. He He. It was a lot of fun shooting gongs and metal discs etc. No paper targets. Distance was about 25 metres from memory. Handguns are more accurate than I gave them credit for provided you use the correct handling technique. Cheers Rob
@@Xynudu Hi Rob, sounds amazing. Back in the late 1970s when I was doing my apprenticeship the place where I worked had an indoor firing range. They also had a gun club which I belonged to. The club had a selection of mainly bolt action rifles, all .22 calibre. That's my only experience of real firearms. Some of the older members brought their own guns to shoot, all I can remember is that indoors the handguns were very loud! Cheers, Alan.
@@RetroSteamTechI shot in The Tunnel. We stayed at Newlands Park and it was a 5 minute drive to The Tunnel. I shot a Lee Enfield, a Mauser and lastly a Mosin Nagant, full bore.(2019) I've been back since and shot .22 AR types in the shorter ranges.👍 I've

@@RetroSteamTech Thanks for the reply. A consistent target sight picture would have given a better sample of the group size and accuracy of the pistol. It did seem reasonable accurate for what it was.
