I'm from the US, stumbled on this and glad I did. You are correct, that era of music was THE best. He's got a great voice and good presentation. After watching you talk about the dress, mannerisms, etc - it jogged my memory. It kind of reminds me of a period that George Michael went through, that is quite similar to this, but George Michael, let's say....was more "sensual" in his mannerisms as well as videos during that time. Also, that "look" was in style here in the States for a while, but only guys that were 150% confident of themselves and knew they looked great and had pretty faces like Tarkan, could ever get away dressing like that and well...they did. Let's face the TRUTH...both Tarkan & George sing, dance, and have a way of looking at you from the screen (as if they see you and only you) and there is something highly sensual / sexed that no one can ignore. Tarkan's eyes and smile are like lightning. He can't dance worth shit, but DAMN...he can wiggle each and every part of his body as if the wind is moving him weightless....that is a talent. One can giggle while watching, but HE has the uncanny ability to make everyone want to get off their asses and dance - that is true talent, esp for a song this old. It does not matter if you are straight, gay, or bi - he looks good and knows how to charm his way around anyone he comes in contact with. All in all, both are great artists and stand on their own. Thank you for this and your comments. Please sing along on this one the next time around. P.S. - I think he was holding back on his (belly)dancing in this vid because he was, maybe, "told" to. I betcha Tarkan could probably bellydance better than any woman on that set. Well it is wrong to say that the albums after Simarik were not successful. Probably true for Western Europe, where non-english singing artists are put in an exotic "catchy song niche", but as a matter of fact his following albums were huge successes in Turkey and rest of the world. To this day Tarkan is the biggest star in Turkey, and despite looking like a one hit wonder such as Ricky Martin to many Western europeans , Tarkan is much more versatile and a real artist. He even dove into Turkish chanson style music and still going strong in Russia, Balkans, Middle East and Latin America.
