It's a bit shame they haven't utilized the looting mechanics here. Maybe something like gathering and stashing the map loot that can be used in the following rounds? Still, it's neat it is linked to the progress in the main game hwere you can save money to spend in this game mode.
It would be interesting to see you play through a full wipe of Tarkov. I know it's a hard game to play right through when you only have a small amount of time to dedicate to it, but it can be a very rewarding game once you're through that initial learning curve. It'd be awesome to see you progress in the main game. Just make sure you have a sherpa with you to help ease the pain of the early wipe quests. ;)
i would wish you knew the revolver shotgun you used for half of the video can be switched to double action fire mode that would surely make your day since you were really blasting with the single action fire mode
I was already laughing when he put the balm on his lips and made the screen blurry, the team kill right after was the cherry on top, haven't laughed that hard watching a RU-vid video in a while.
tip with that revolver shotgun: if you press B or whatever your fire mode key is, you can switch between single and double action operation. switch to double action and your character wont cock the hammer every time
I absolutely love this because on top of it just being a nice change from the "main" game, it's a way to get better at shooting in Tarkov in a more straightforward and fun way !
Dan you are right. Arena is the perfect training camp for people like me who kinda suck at the gunplay. Bye bye gear fear and empty wallet. Btw would love if Tarkov was finally in good technical state and that is including netcode and working positional audio.
I love this more than the main game. The main game is too boring and draining for me. U need to manage alot unlike in arena just spawn in and shoot. Thou i dislike the name arena. Could have used. Better name.
@yourewrongabouteverything single player tarkov may help you how to use the guns but it is a very different experience when you are fighting players vs fighting bots
Regarding 12:18 , I haven’t played Tarkov personally, but my understanding is that buckshot in Tarkov behaves more like actual buckshot. If your experience with shotguns comes almost entirely from games, it gives you a really distorted idea of the range and spread of shot. Somebody 25 years ago decided that any shotgun projectile other than slugs needs to turn into confetti after traveling 10ft for balance purposes, and like 99.99% of games with guns have obeyed this unwritten rule since.
Unfortunately, while yes the projectiles travel like a real shotgun, lead shot can magically mangle steel body armor. So it's still pretty unrealistic.
This takes me back to Contract Wars, the browser version. It was very similar to this game mode. There was 2 teams BEAR and USEC. And to unlock more guns you had to level up your account. It was really fun and for a browser game the graphics were really good for that time. When I saw Bay 5 I was like "Man, I miss those good old times...,,.
I actually tried Contract Wars last month cuz nostalgia. I couldn't find the browser version anymore so I downloaded their client. It had around 5 players 🫡 and for some reason it ran like ass
For those that don't know, the FOV slider in Tarkov is vertical FOV not horizontal. So by setting it to max which is 75 your actual FOV is 107. If you normally play games at 90 or so set it to 59, that equals roughly 90 horizontal FOV. Also, not sure if you could tell but the spectator cam is definitely zoomed in so the FOV is busted.
Can't believe Jack didn't noticed that. Did he think 75 horizontal looks like that? It would be zoomed in like hell. Even CS uses/used vertical numbers and he has played a lot of that
No way they're charging for this mode. I brought Tarkov and didn't really enjoy the gameplay loop so when I heard about this I was happy because it seemed like something I would enjoy, disappointing I have to pay £40 for an alternate gamemode. Pisstake.
Crazy how people that don’t even play Tarkov regularly get access but people that do and had eod access for many years and even got dev blog #1 don’t have it yet bsg is pathetic
@@escapetarkov3838 CS2 is the most popular game on Steam, _right now_ by a margin of a quarter million players. The Finals is 4th, and COD is 7th, which does include Warzone and Zombies but it's a lot of people playing MP as well.
They fucked up by making it fighting in an sports arena over objective based modes in the maps already available. Considering The Finals just released and is set to be an sports arena type shooter, don't see this mode holding up very well IMO.
12:26 shotguns in tarkov behave as they do in real life. games where they have spread like 2 meters in like 10 meters is extremly inaccurate. that kind of spread is on 100m+ ... shotguns are accurate on close range up to like 50-100m
You should check out the new Hunt: Showdown event. The teleport trait is crazy fun and allows so many new strategies. Really like your vids, loads of fun!
@@Sixfootdig I had the exact same concerns before getting it, I waited for a sale and got it anyway. Getting close to 400 hrs in it now and I can't get enough of it. It does have a hard learning curve but it is easier and a lot more forgiving than Tarkov. Look up some RU-vid video guides on how to handle PvE, bosses, get some general understanding of sound queues ( sound is very important in this game). You will eventually get the hang of all mechanics and fall in love with the game like I did. Hope to see you in the bayou :)
By the looks of it there are also health items spawned around the map that you can pick up and use. At 15:46 on the desk there is a little orange AI-2 (Cheese) health kit.
@jackfrags buddy you need to do the wiggle left and right real quick if youre getting shot at by your teammates thats takrov movement lingo's way of saying friendly
37€ is insane. eft is still in beta and they release this moneygrab of a half assed arena game? if i want constant pvp with realistic balistics and movement i can play insurgency sandstorm instead of this. eft still has alot of problems. performance. bugs. hackers etc. they should focus on fixing all that on their main game instead of releasing this bullshit. nobody wants this.
Whole team sticks together, going for the win. Jack : "do these guys know the map?" *goes into inventory, gets distracted by other things*. *puts Vaseline on his lips to kiss his teammate goodbye with a friendly fire*. Sometimes you have the focus of a average house wife😂.
8:06 it's 75 vertical fov jack. the horizontal fov for that is 107.5. that's more than plenty. counterstrike set the standard at 106. you don't need to go higher. past 110 you start to get fishbowl effects anyway.
That IDEA rig probably caused your death. .. thats probably bad to have that on especially with randos where the only way to tell who is on your team is by looking for color

Contract Wars , thats the game Jack mentions in the beginning. Its very similiar to Tarkov Arena in aesthetics atleast but not in gameplay, it was faster paced. Used to be playable on browser too back in the day!
looking forward to playing this tbh looks alot of fun glad it has progression and isn't just a basic base multiplayer experience i know bsg gets alot of stick and maybe its because im super new to eft but for me nikita and the devs at bsg deserve praise for bringing a unique experience to the gaming industry

Seriously. Streamers that never play and obviously dont know how to play are getting access to it before day 1 supporters. And they're showing it off much like Jack - not well....
Where's the business sense in giving the access to someone who doesn't have a platform to promote the product, over someone who has 4 million subscribers?
The game is broken....1st of all, trying to get into an actual game is very difficult, at some points impossible...2nd point would be that if players disconnect from your game, you HAVE to play it untill one team wins...after that you get 0 xp, 0 ARP and 0 money. But if you leave you are banned 15 minutes...I've read that many people have disconnecting problems... So yeah, after releasing it to everyone the game broke, and now we can't play it....typical BSG
I feel like at the time Arena was planned, Tarkov was unique with its hardcore element and the relatively harder gunplay. But between then and now games like Ready or Not and Ground Branch have come out and shown better hardcore tactical gunplay. Even before that games like Insurgency were doing it well. And being priced as a separate thing entirely.......I don't know if I want to fork out $35-40 for something that other games do better.
Sorry but have you even played tarkov? Both those games mentioned aren't even remotely close to realistic hardcore gunplay like you say ... they're both VERY arcady. I'm not even a big fan of Tarkov but it's still the most realistic gunplay by a mile lol
These developers/publishers of EFT first take the right way, travel it, begin to stumble on the during ... then reducing the potential to this crap (to the supplied thinking that they will earn more money -_-)
Classic BSG giving youtubers who dont even play the game access and EOD holders from 2017 with no access, I hope bsg do sell up bc they suck as a dev team.
