Taron Egerton reads a love letter written by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas

In July of 1936, months after meeting 22-year-old dancer Caitlin Macnamara, Welsh poet Dylan Thomas wrote her the love letter you will now hear. They married the next year, and so began a tempestuous relationship that was fuelled by excesses of all kinds.
Taron Egerton joined us to give a brilliant reading of this letter at Wilderness Festival 2023 in the Oxfordshire countryside, UK.

Mina, to help fulfill your love of letter writing- read the next comment in line, the one under yours, read it as if it WERE a love letter! It's written as if it could be one. Just put all the pauses in the right places. Use an English accent too, those always sound better! Even the writers name is worthy of letter writing - Angela R surfing in stilettos What a great imagination!

How adorably sweet. Beautiful and vibrant. He delivers it with a romantic and youthful spirit. It’s easy to know that spirit was there from the words alone. I love a letter that doesn’t really leave any mystery or interpretation about feelings, especially when those feelings are as heartwarming as that.

I thought this was so beautiful. I looked up the author and discovered he actually cheated on her several times during their marriage. No matter the age, no matter how often and loudly they profess their love; men of all ages, from all ages, will still cheat.
