I agree about the knights being fire and the kings air. Fire is dynamic and has forceful movement. Air can also have that but their is more finesse. Something about Kings having that authority that comes with wisdom from experience. It happens when someone thinks about things and speaks more carefully.

Or, you can see the pages as air (they always think about things but don't necessarily do it) while kings materialize things.

This was very useful, particularly the discussion of the mutable qualities. I have always seen Knights as Fire, but now attaching the modality really creates clarity on astrological associations. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I have ,until now, attributed Air to Pages, particularly because it relates so well to education and learning, students energy, apprenticeships.... and Earth to Kings, as someone who embodies the qualities of Earth, Is steady, dependable, reliable, successful, indeed a land or kingdom owner, whether it be property, businesses, or assets as a king does. So mentioning Air as the quality of a King is food for thought.

Hi Sue: Yes, there a few versions of how tarot readers attribute the elements to the court cards. The most common way currently is King = Air, Knight = Fire, Queen = Water and page = Earth. However, previously King was placed on Chokmah on the tree of life and associated with Fire and Knight in Air....but that seems to be evolving now and Knight is placed on Chokmah fire, with King in Air. It's 50/50 in the books. Ultimately I guess it's up to the reader of what makes the most sense to help you read tarot more effectively, right. Thanks for watching...Wray

At 6:50, the statement refers to Knights as being of the element of Fire. I agree. This is how I read, too. Kings/ air, Queens/ water and Pages/ earth.

HI Carmen! Thanks for watching. Yes, fire associated with Knights is one way of assigning the elemental correspondences. I've tried to provide both options in my videos because it's not a cut/dry decision. There is a very strong argument to leave the Kings in Fire because it coordinates with Chokmah on the Tree of Life which tarot is deeply rooted in...also Kings relate to 'father' energy of Yod in the Atziluth world. Many older books have Waite's Kings traditionally under fire and on Chokmah... it seems the Air /King connection is becoming more popular. I've stuck with fire for Kings so far (in my personal practice) but I try and give all info and choices, so people can decide for themselves. Good points for both I would say! I'm so glad I found your channel! Your interpretations are very helpful. I have a question about 2 Knights appearing in a tarot reading. I had a dream where a person of interest to me usually appears in my dreams that he knows me and we chat in the 5D (which is fine). But I recently had a dream where he appeared as if he didn't know me or was looking somewhere else past me. To interpret this confusing dream I did a quick 3-card spread to ask what the message of the dream was? Why was he acting this way? I got the Knight of Wands and reversed Knight of Pentacles. So when two knights appear next to each other, can they be conflicting qualities within that person? Thanks.

So, the order of the swords from left to right: Tarot Illuminati, Druid Craft, Llewellyn's Classic Tarot, Hezicos Tarot. HI there! Yes, occasionally it can mean that or an invitation upcoming from someone, or creativity is required in a situation. It can also suggest more emotional characteristics are required (rather than logical for example), though idealism can take over with this card! Sometimes it suggests creative, mystical or spiritual quests. It depends on the question asked, the spread used and which position it lands in. I hope this helps! Wray

Hi there! Yes, I've tried to present both because the tarot community is split down the middle on it. There isn't a right or wrong - just a slightly different "attribution" of the underlying element to the rank. I always encourage people to read a lot from various books and make their own determination of which element they think works the best for them. Take care ! Wray
