@@eascec8374 It’s not the music quality, it’s the fact that it’s using all the iconic sound effects from games like Mario 64, combined with extremely “stock-sounding” effects that makes it feel like a Flash game.
skudzer1985 I feel like the composer has never ever played a Mario game in their life. In fact… some of the tracks feel Sonic-y, some feel like they're from Bomberman, and some are just random notes that occasionally form a "melody". There's no cohesion or main theme tying the whole thing together. Truly awful soundtrack!
Ruby Williams Alright then, I'll go and listen to my favourite iconic and memorable Mario soundtracks that everyone knows and loves like _Sunshine_ or _Galaxy_ and you can be here humming the shitty ice level music in _Mario Fucking Pinball_ to yourself, wondering why nobody else knows or likes it.
The music doesn't sound like Mario, but I think it sounds really good! The desert music, Bowser Phase 2, and especially Battle with Cheep-Cheep sound really good!
28:30 And that is how New Super Mario Bros. 2 was created. I did Bowser before getting all of the stars, and then after getting the last Yoshi bonus, you can play the bonus game 2 times.
3 years late, but there are some enemies in Mario Party 1's "Key-pa-way" that look like they might be the precursor to the Koopatrol concept (at least insofar as they're otherwise unnamed Koopa enemies with black, spiky shells and a single spike on their heads)
Tenk Kommander Now now guys, this game is pretty good for a pinball games. Normally there is no level changes or bosses at all. so this is amazing in my opinion and hell it's Mario!
11:50 Gameplay looks amazing so far! Done! That looks like hours upon hours of fun! The sounds were reused and kinda cheap, but they were a pleasure to listen to and that's what matters!
I used to play this game when I was quite young, maybe like 6-7. So I didn't really know how to play very efficiently/well. This game was practically impossible for me then, and now it just seems tedious and barely entertaining. I rarely got frustrated (I was a pretty laid-back kid) but this seems like something that would frustrate the hell out of me now.
Audrey Post Trust me, it's frustrating... I've started playing a few days ago and I almost smashed my screen because of that stupid minigame with the chain chomps...
I don't know if this happened to everybody, but on my game, every time I closed the game without save&quitting, it would wipe my save. After multiple times of almost beating bowser and losing my mind over it, I accidently wiped the save when my gameboy ran out of batteries. I wanted to cry.
One observation I've made about this game is the random hodgepodge of sound effects from different sources SMW, Yoshi's Island, SM64, Sunshine, potentially some from M&L, and even the GBA SDK
Fuse developed the game. They later went on to make Metroid Prime Pinball before getting bought out by a different company and shoved into the mobile game mines
@@shinygiveaways1920 someone responded to my 4 year old comment! How cute!!! thanks so much! I never did 100% speedruns, I only did the any%, i can't remember the time now but i'd say 19 to 20 minutes.
Something leads me to believe this was meant to be an actual electronic pinball table, but Nintendo couldn't be arsed with making one of those in the GBA era, so they just slapped it on the GBA and called it a day.
I remember going through all the trouble to get to the final level. Then the battery would die and I would have to start the entire game all over. One day, I decided to be smart and beat it all in one night (with my charger, of course). It was fun while it lasted.
I think the weirdest part in all of this is the amalgamation of sound effects from multiple mario games, like sunshine and Super mario bros 3, it's just... jarring
Hang on…for a few stars, the requirements seemed easier (I've played the European version)? Like at 2:54 you only killed 2 of 4 ShyGuys but still got the star? Or am I imagining things?
This doesn't do justice to how hard Tutankoopa and King Boo are for the average player Of course, seeing Monty reset at all in a TAS makes me feel better about my own skills
