My favorite part of these is that the CPUs fly so far out of bounds that their minimap icons just randomly appear in the middle of the screen throughout the whole thing
@@johnmartinez7440 ultra shortcut world record which is the time said above, is faster than non ultra 99999cc TAS so yeah that’s pretty cool if you ask me
Makes me think, what’s the optimal speed. Because there’s obviously some tipping point between 150 and 99999 where it goes from being faster bc of the speed increase to being slower because of the wall bumps and lack of shortcuts.
this is the visual representation of how it feels when you are about to fall asleep and then slightly feel like you are being flung at 500 miles per hour as if air resistance and terminal velocity didn't exist
Oh, glad that's not just a thing with me. I'll also completely randomly have my arms and/or legs flail at nothing just before going to sleep, which isn't normally a problem when I'm standing up.
@@hawkhp9893 Long time no see! Other than the fact it's taking a long time for me to get into grad school, life is great. By pure coincidence I just checked with MeteorCow yesterday as well. If you're still into Mario Maker you should check out my Beast Needle 0 when you have the time :)
@@Rose-ez7yn an ultra requires you to pass all the key checkpoints, they may be placed in other locations like grumble volcano's rock which has all the key checkpoints line up on the specific areas on said rock, so i don't quite understand what you mean
@@Quixium in this cc, rock shortcut isn’t even faster because of excessive speed. notice how he takes a long route that somewhat resembles the rock circle true ultra shortcuts have you take the last checkpoint before the first one, which makes crossing the starting line count as a lap. (I definitely do not have the technical details correct lol)
Takeways: - Bike optimized for low speed high handling is required. - Best possible start is actually one of the shorter boosts because of how much speed you have to begin with, sometimes the TAS dosen't even use a start boost - Drifting slows you down, and hitting walls makes it reasonable to turn. - The AI doesn't do anything but be comic relief.
3:09 I love how the final lap goes so fast that the sound of the lap completing happens right as the first measure opening completes Perfection 6:13 also can we appreciate bowser's far away scream here that immediately fades away And also for Bowser Jr at 8:19
Just every character flying off the map and then at the end baby Mario just doing the same kills me. Also, this won’t start up any new crazy speed run categories.
did not realize this was 99,999cc until Coconut Mall and was absolutely BAFFLED at the speed baby Mario was getting to. Really good TAS though and very entertaining to watch baby Mario just ZOOP through the tracks
The tracks look like a movie studio every time you finish them. Baby M. clipped so far out of bounds he broke the fourth wall, or even the fabric of reality. 2:20: "I must go. My planet needs me." -Baby Luigi, as the "moon" theme from that DuckTales NES game plays.
Like how the description says "without any ultra shortcuts", man was going so fast the ground didn't even try to stop him. Lakitu basically gave up on his job, probably couldn't even comprehend which dimension baby Mario was in 90% of the time.
After every single race when baby Mario completes last lap and says I win I win then gets teleported to the map which distorts the sounds making it sound like drowning effects. Idk how you couldvr missed it unless u just read comments before watching videos
Can we talk about how on the very start of Rainbow Road everyone at straight up DIED? And they kept racing over the track for the entire match? That’s so friggin funny
@@goodguytongue7159 Well at least the 99999cc version is very tame - the worst that could happen if it goes wrong is clipping out of bounds. No screams into your face this time!
Seems like this particular version of the mod lowered the minimum drift speed and didn't scale drift acceleration at all. Considering that this run uses auto, it probably would've been better to use bullet bike instead of quacker to be able to turn faster and accelerate faster while drifting since regular accel still would've been absurdly scaled.
You know in Dragonball when all the minor-er characters are on the sidelines watching the battle and then the fighters power up and they say "They're going so fast I can't even follow the fight anymore!"? That's me with Maple Treeway. What even just happened, and can I get a 0.1× speed replay? 😅
It's funny to hear that the music (Koopa Cape, Dry Dry Ruins, all the stages with multiples versions of the song) can't synchronize in time with how fast this baby flies off the map (and drowns) just cracks me up. Rainbow Road was the best for me
Oh yeah worth noting you can save several frames on menuing by using the IR from the Wii remote to select any button in 2 frames - and if you’re not using that and instead are using the GameCube controller, you should be using Wii remote + nunchuck (benefit over Wiimote solo due to not having to pause buffer precise joystick inputs, and benefit over GC due to having a greater input range and therefore timesave during any airtime)
