Ed Boon said it was never supposed to be on disk. My guess is that it was supposed to be him actually pulling their head out and showing the spinal cord and whatever.

Kens Korner i feel like this game would have been more enjoyable if it had stage fatalities/death traps like Mk deception and MK Armageddon

+Darell Collins To be fair, I think with Deadly Alliance, they simply wanted to see how well they could implement the 3D fighting mechanic. Aside from Tekken and Soul Caliber, not too many fighting games had smoothly implemented 3D fighting. Mortal Kombat 4 felt very rough in movement and other games like Virtual Fighter felt kinda choppy when moving around in 3D. They definitely nailed the 3D fighting smoothness with Deadly Alliance but my personal complaint is how broken the characters are. First off, some moves like Quan Chi's backhand can just be spammed to nearly always pull off a victory. Secondly, the special moves of some characters are pathetic. Movado only has two special moves in Deadly Alliance and one is just a shitty side-step meaning Movado really only has ONE special move which itself is easily blockable and punishable. The game looks great overall, the story is decent, and the soundtrack is amazing (as all MK games are) but God damn, if half the characters of the roster are pieces of shit, the game is not very enjoyable. As for the stage fatalities, I was really surprised as a kid that you couldn't kick your opponent into the acid on the acid pool stage. I guess if they didn't have the time to make balanced characters, they surely didn't have the time to create stage fatalities.

Kens Korner frfr and like the game had some decent stages, but like u said, everything jus seemed broken.

+Darell Collins Yeah, you could definitely tell Midway pressured Ed Boon and the guys to pop out the game quick. That and I think (could be wrong) they were also working on Shaolin Monks at the time. Everyone is salty that we didn't get MK11 at E3 but at the same point, at least their not rushing the game. Last thing we would want is MK11 to be a largely broken game missing a lot of features due to NRS rushing it out the doors.

kens, i dont think so, in mk4 they did a really good job in 3D fighting.. in my opinion they didnt care that much to this game, idk look at those fatalities... still a good and fun game tho
