In Bubble Bobble, two magical, bubble-blowing dinosaurs (Bub and Bob)
fight through an evil, deep forest in order to rescue their kidnapped
dinosaur friends.
This movie features one... no, wait, six players controlling two characters simultaneously while smashing the previous ( tasvideos.org/64M ) time by 2 minutes and 41 seconds. However, this publication chooses to use warps.

Today I learned that the lives counter can surpass 9 in this game and continue to A (hexadecimal for 10). Kind of amazed they even thought of and/or allowed that considering how difficult the game is for the average kid playing the game at the time!

Usually this is a result of the counter reaching higher levels than the developers intended, for example in the original Super Mario Bros if you go past world 8 you'll be greeted by world 9, then A, B, C, etc. After Z you get some punctuation marks, then the game starts loading in map tiles. So it's possible the A in this video wasn't intended, the pointer is just accessing memory past where it's typically supposed to

I remember this game vividly from playing it on my calculator in high school. Fun seeing it demolished like this!

The original US NES version of this game has the best esthetic imo; the bonus items, water bubbles, etc. My favorite was when you could sometimes get a huge jewel almost half the size of the screen to drop down the center. So cool.

@@TompaA saw Tompa at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly. I'm still in shock! Anyone else had similar experiences?

Are you talking about the Bust-a-Move (Puzzle Bubble) games? These are great games to play.

They made level 57 look too easy. That level is one of the NES exclusive levels changed from the original arcade version, and can be a total pain sometimes.
