Touhou Reiiden ~ The Highly Responsive to Prayers (東方靈異伝　～ The Highly Responsive to Prayers) is the first official installment of the Touhou Project series and is the first and only Arkanoid styled game. It is also the first Touhou game to have ever been officially released for the PC-98, released on August 15th, 1997. In this game, something has wrecked the Hakurei Shrine so Reimu travels through the gateway into other worlds to punish the ones responsible.
PearlASE ( tasvideos.org/... ) makes their way through the game on Lunatic difficulty by primarily stalling and abusing deaths in order to reset the timer and attains a score of 18,100,000 points. Please read the author's comments ( tasvideos.org/... ) for more details. For reference, the best known real time score is 14,503,740 points by mu021 which takes that Jigoku route.
