The very first game of the action-adventure franchise, featuring Lara Croft as she sets out on an expedition to recover a mysterious artifact called the Scion.
This run by Troye ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/T... ) is an improvement of 04:40.30 minutes over the previous run ( tasvideos.org/3440M ). Time savings come from new glitches and tricks, route changes, and general optimization. See the author's comments ( tasvideos.org/6716S ) for more information.

@@chickensandwich9977 I knew about the normal dive, even before playing the game for the first time. Because I was a nerd kid and I read all the instructions before starting any videogame 🤓

That is one of the Playstation games that my family and I owned back when I was a little kid. I also remember playing the PC version of this game, and it was really excellent.

Man, the memories. I had this on psx and PC back in the day. The music and atmosphere is/was so haunting back then. Just me my game and a dark room with headphones for pc. Damn I had a great childhood!

Oh hell yeah. When I was a wee lad, I had only two games for PS1 for the longest time: this and Rayman. I couldn't get past the band level (FUCK those flying maracas), so I basically devoted hundreds of hours to this game. This is one of the few games that I can essentially speed run, at least in the sense I can run through levels without stopping to line up jumps since it's basically all muscle memory now lol

The thing I like about some of these early PS1 games is that they didn't have music, it was just sound and that's it, music comes on once in a while, but it was just nice quiet sounds.

I beat this game for the first time about a month ago. Pretty good one! The game has aged really well if you don't mind the tank controls (which make this type of game actually easier)

Something I always muse over. So, at some point, the skateboard henchman must have gone to Natla and said, "Do you mind if I turn a massive swath of your mine into a skatepark so I can skate on company time quoting Taxi Driver?" and Natla answered, "Oh hell yeah here's a pair of uzis." I mean, evil ancient megalomaniac or not, you gotta admit she must be a pretty cool boss.

Whenever I watch speedruns I'm always wondering what the enemies are doing after they're completely skipped over lol. Running around aimlessly I guess 🤷
