In the two days after publishing my No Gold TAS with a time of 18.866, I found more timesaves and got it to 17.783. I thought it would be weird to upload a TAS then upload a better one days later, so I did not, then forgot about doing it. That was over three months ago.
The new timesaves brings the TAS down from 18.866 to 17.783. This is an improvement of 1.083 seconds, or 65 frames. This notably is an average of less than 1 second per level.
The timesaves are using a bomb to open the Teleporter crate in 1-1, killing Tusk in 4-1 to get a better 6-3, going through Abzu by teleporting into lava instead of the normal 4-4, and better teleporting through 5-1 Ice Caves.
Individual Level Times:
1-1 - 1.500 (-9 frames)
1-2 - 0.900
1-3 - 0.933
1-4 - 0.933
2-1 - 0.933
2-2 - 0.916
2-3 - 0.900
2-4 - 0.933
3-1 - 1.000
4-1 - 0.983 (+1 frame, timesave is from 6-3)
4-2 - 0.966
4-3 - 0.966 (+2 frames, timesave is from 4-4)
4-4 - 0.833 (-10 frames)
5-1 - 1.400 (-32 frames)
6-1 - 0.933
6-2 - 0.933
6-3 - 0.933 (-5 frames)
6-4 - 0.883
All inputs you see in the video were inputted frame-by-frame with a real controller with the ability to replay levels as many times as needed. This is obviously not meant to complete with human runs and is purely for entertainment and seeing the limits of the game.
