Wow, didn't know Dudley could do straight up Marvel combos in this game. I kind of like how Gill sounds a lot more angry in New Generation and Second Impact. Speaking of Second Impact, I think it's Hugo of all characters that can juggle Gill until the timer runs out. Of course, it's not done in an as remotely flashy fashion as seen here. Third Strike may be the more mechanically polished game, but I much the prefer the overall presentation of the first two games. The stages are absolutely gorgeous and character select and "defeated" screens have so much more character.
Yes, the first games presentation had more care and quality. 3S is already part of the decadent or lazier period of Capcom's classic fg cycle. SFIII NG invented the BEST win screen in all 2d fg history: showing the winner and the loser, even highlighting the loser, in a special epic artistic composition, with original high quality artwork, and with the added bonus of not holding back on violence display. By the mid 90s, showing the loser in the win screen was a dieing tendency. And even so, that display used to be just an edited "beat up" version of the base portrait - the SF2 model. So SF3 NG was the game that took that model to the next level. No 2d fg ever beat that, before or after it.
Around that time (97-98) Capcom also made other great improvements with win screen presentation, especially DS3, SFA3 and MvC1... though in a lower level compared to SF3. That period was the peak of their artistic achievements. Look how all those games had high quality original artworks... then after 98 the games used cheaper win screens, reusing artwork from the select screen: 3S, Jojo, CvS1-2, MvC2. Even if there are some nice things in all those games presentation wise, but the decadence of the artistic effort is very clear.
Gill: You don't scare me Dudley: I say good sir, unfortunately for you. are about to have an unpleasant experience with the brutish force these Fistacuffs. Gill: wait lets talk about this.. Dudley: Nah Good champ PUT.EM.UP
Damnnnn!!! that last combo Dudley was like let's take em to the other side I started cracking up after about 10 seconds into it I've never laughed so hard in a while thanks for this upload was the best 💪
Hot take: New Generation and 2nd impact have more personality than third strike thanks to the soundtrack and presentation. -Also, New Generation feels somewhat uncanny-
I prefer 3s music more than 2nd impact and new generation but the stages on 2nd and new gen are way better than 3s, also, defeat screen is bad-ass and cool looking.
My Take: Personally, I think you think that way because the two games were quickly overshadow by 3s. The third ediration was the most fleshed out as well. I agree on the aesthetics and presentation however.
@@JLW2490 ...its not because NG and 2I were overshadowed. I know 3S is the more fleshed out game, it's just that NG has this strange uncanny feel to it... The character select, the stages, the music, the supers, all have this strange "afterworld" vibe to it. Especially the continue screen where it looks like the defeated character is being sent to heaven. New Generation feels like the most uncanny Street Fighter game to date, in my opinion.
Nice TAS Maina, I love boxing characters and I haven't seen such a cool TAS in a long time. I liked the speed and combos. It reminded me of me in the past 😛😛😛 maybe one day I'll do a version of myself too.
Local British boxer beats several martial artists at the streets while playing juggle with them and then beats up a deity for more than 3 minutes to get his car back
0:50 2:26 the death cry is echoed by the sound chip and the slow down from the move let’s you hear it without the echo at the same rate. Love synthesized sound. Anyway to play the music channel by channel.
