I like how a lot of the rounds started with one or both fighters crouching, even just the fast micro crouch XD. It's like they were greeting each other.
Heihachi is one of the greatest fighting game characters ever. Its awesome that he beats Devil and Kazuya so satisfiyingly in the game to become the boss of the Mishima Zaibatsu after Kazuya beat him in the first game. Hes so brutal and badass. I can see why Harada picked him as his favourite.
Maina sees a Chang on the VS screen and is like, "Ohhh honey, you know what time it is...." Heihachi Mishima: Shattering tailbones since 1995. Michelle and Nina's themes alone make Tekken 2's soundtrack one of my absolute favorites.
Imagine how players felt when they realized that the final boss of the first game (Heihachi) was now the main protagonist and Kazuya (main protagonist of the first game) was now the antagonist/Final Boss in the sequel... And imagine the bigger surprise when players encountered Kazuya's Devil form. It surely must've been a twist seeing how Kazuya was able to win the first Tekken Tournament and why he was in the position that Heihachi once was...the Devil gave him strength and controlled his motives. I know there's more to this story, but I'm pretty sure this role reversal took players by surprise. And this was in the arcades, how interesting.
It is pretty cool how the Mishimas toss the "face/heel" ball around. They have reasons you want to see them succeed and reasons you want to see them get their just desserts.
Netflix should really look into doing a good tekken anime. Could do a few good seasons with it. Or maybe Namco should look into what Mortal Kombat did and reset the series back to the first tournament with a more in depth story and dialogue.
It definitely was back in '95. I remember being annoyed when I couldn't spot Kazuya on the select screen at the Arcades. Then I hit Stage 09. And 7 year old me lost his shit.
@@SoulStreak64 wow pretty crazy. It would have been nice if they started with the first tournament and worked there way up but the trailer looked interesting.
Fun fact: Canonically, Heihachi actually won The King Of Iron Fist Tournament 2 & threw Kazuya inside a volcano. This is why we don’t see Kazuya in The King Of Iron Fist Tournament 3, as he was being rehabilitated during that time by G Corporation until the events of Tekken 4. Additional Fun Fact: Tekken is actually Japanese for “Iron Fist”. Which is why every tournament is called “The King Of ‘Iron Fist’ Tournament”.
@@LoneStoneMaalik Kazuya wasn't being rehabilitated during TK3. He was brought back to life a few days after TK2, then just lived in secrecy for 20 years while subjecting himself to experiments to help him master the Devil Gene.

It's amazing what tool assist can do. I'm still not sure how it works but just watching it in motion is satisfying. Also its funny sometimes. The fight with Michellel was hilarious
As far as I know, it is used by playing a game frame by frame using certain programs. Going frame by frame can allow you to input buttons and directions at speeds not possible by a human. Then the whole footage is played back in normal speed and this is the result. There may be some more complicated programs that allow for all sorts of information and commands but that's the basics.
Man Heihachi was cracked and Tekken 2 was already cracked but him and Kazuya amp it up. Some of these combos had me dying because of how unreal it is for that to be a combo. I enjoy your videos as always.
TK1: You're Kazuya and you're competing in the tournament to get revenge on your father, Heihachi, for throwing you off a cliff. You succeed, and the Mishima Zaibatsu is yours. TK2: You're Heihachi, and you're competing in the tournament to overthrow Kazuya because the Devil Gene has made him perform all sort of corrupt and evil acts that are far worse than whatever you did. You succeed, and the Zaibatsu is back in your hands. Kinda neat how the roles of Main Protagonist and Main Antagonist swapped just because of a little something called the Devil Gene.
I miss Tekken 2's cool moon jumps and ground hits with jump + triangle, it sort of survived into the other tekken games but it wasn't as flashy, and most people don't even use that option anymore because of how quickly jumping is over these days lol
If you think about the first games Kazuya ending with the context and hindsight of later games, it becomes more scary than anything Cuz he just smiles at you, as if to say"Thank you for helping kill my father and achieve world chaos" and kick off everything
