I bought a dp 32 about 3 years ago and haven't used it much at all to be honest. This video was helpful thanks, I'll probably start using it more now.

To be honest with you, I've never messed with the Virtual Tracks feature lol! I just tried playing around with it and I guess if I keep playing around with it I might get the hang of it - it's the button on the front right panel - just push it and s selection pops up on the main screen to select and use a virtual track, I think it basically hides the first recording you made in place of a new one on top. I just record over any mistakes I make and leave it at that without bothering to use the Virtual track. I will play around with it some more and see if I can get a better grip on how to best use it!

Nice video, very useful as I have just purchased a "24", and will be using it with a Fantom-0 and a ModX. Not quite sure I understand the usage of the six stereo tracks for overdubbing tho, Hmm, early days yet, I haven't even recorded anything so far lol. Thanks again

Not sure what's happening with your vocals there, check to make sure your second vocal doesn't have some kind of unwanted effect added to it that might be causing that. Question 2 - when you look at your song file you will have a file for each separate track, then you will have the mix file (it will be a .wav file) then if you use the mastering tools to normalize the track - you will see a second .wav file on there as well. The original mix will usually add a letter "Z" in the file name to designate that .wav file as the original mix. If you listen to the two files and compare them - you will hear a difference. Hope this helps you.

Hello, I’m having trouble assigning reverb to a channel. I’ve managed to figure out how to send flanger and tremolo etc but for some reason I can’t get reverb to play. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Sorry, just saw this - not sure if I answered it or not already, or you figured it out on your own - the Dp will only allow just so many effects (two I believe) at one time when recording. What I've done, if I want to add some guitar effects, is use say Chorus and Flanger first, then bounce it over to another track and then add the reverb at that time, or if you have an external effects board, just record with that using the effects send or directly in while recording. Hope this helps you out. Best wishes, D

Dave, I know I've been a pain but I cannot figure out what this "PHASE" action is about in the mixer. Could you please explain this to me and maybe what these "SEND" effects are for? Thanks you so much!
@DigitalDoxology
@DigitalDoxology 3 месяца назад
You know - I haven’t quite figured out what the Phase is used for either (other than something to do with certain microphones?) send effect/return setting is for when or if you want to send an input out to an external effects device (ie guitar pedal effects board or something like that) and return it into the recorder as part of the mix thereby bypassing the internal effects altogether. Hope this helps explain your question.

@@DigitalDoxology Thanks Dave. I really, as always, appreciate all of your responses. From what I've just figured out, it's best to just keep that "phase" off during the recording because it really cuts down the volume. But, all-in-all, I've really gotten a lot of this down. I recorded on 8 trks for years and I've never done much mastering so that's going to be a new challenge lol. Over all though, I love it. The sound quality is every bit as good as "Pro Tools" and much simpler to navigate. Thanks for all of your help. Giving something back is important and you are certainly doing your part.

How to connect my piano or keyboard to the dp24?
@DigitalDoxology
@DigitalDoxology 4 месяца назад
You will use the stereo or mono audio outs on your keyboard - then run stereo or mono patch cords to the inputs on the back of the DP-24 just like you would on an amplifier - it will accept up to eight simultaneous audio inputs. Then you will need to use headphones or plug your DP-24 into monitors to hear everything. Hope that helps explain the basic setup.

@@DigitalDoxology perfect, thanks so much, really appreciated. I used another multi track for 23 years and connect with other input, but I bought this new and I wanted to make it right. Thanks again 🤘🎸🎹🥁🎶🎵🎶🎶

Hi, when you assign inputs c and d for the korg to track 13/14 for example, do you get a stereo output?
@DigitalDoxology
@DigitalDoxology 8 месяцев назад
Yes 👍
@raydame4846
@raydame4846 8 месяцев назад
Thank you, that was my guess. Also, in your production setup, you use both the kronos and the fantom. Does that give you more recording/production capabilities, and what is your aim in using both? Do they both have features which are complimentary to each other? Thanks once again, appreciate your thoughts as I do similar recording & production. @@DigitalDoxology
