After you formatted it , does it take pictures. After I format mine and put it in my sd card reader it formats it again. Im wondering since I only formatted it on the camera will it still take photos and if I pull it out and pop in a computer will I have to do the same as on the SD card reader
I have 1 of these and I love it it works great ,just we have way more Bears than deer 5 days in the woods got me 4 pictures of deer and 735 pictures of Bears.I got tired of looking at all the Bears.but the work great and you can't go wrong for 24.88 its a great deal.
I have all brands of cameras. This is a good camera but pictures arent bad. A few of them blur because the shutter isnt fast enough . I do like these cameras. Another thing I do instead of buying different cards, Ill pack my laptop out to the camera and download straight off the card to computer in a file. Then delete the card and put it back in. I have a smaller laptop for that..weighs nothing. Great review though !
@Jamie Schaffer thanks for the comment! If you get sick of packing your laptop every time you check cameras, be sure to check out the Hunt Perfect 4-in-1 SD Reader. I use mine all the time, best SD card reader for cell phones I've used. Here's a video if you wanna learn more: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r0U3cGjqhUc.html
All cameras I have used needs to be formatted to the camera it is in. Usually, if you don't delete the pictures on your it stays formatted to that camera. But I understand most people want to delete the old pics.
Bought one today had 2 for $28.00 a piece never seen trail came that cheap would have bought both didn't figure was any good use to paying $100 plus for cuddie back got home worked great went back got other one
I have 7 of these never had to format cards each time and have other cameras and interchange cards with no problems. not sure why yours are doing that. But agree they are great cameras for the price
Are there pictures on your SD card? After the countdown the screen will go blank, but the camera is on and taking pictures. If its not taking pictures, or not turning back on when you flip the switch to the setup position, try a new set of batteries.
I've got one of these that just came yesterday. My computer says it won't accept the format. I reset the format on the camera and computer still says it doesn't recognize the format. I have a Bushnell and have no problem with it. Is this camera bad?
Yup, that's normal on these cameras. The display screen does not show a picture count or any indication when a picture is taken. It is actively taking pictures though.
Hey thanks for the comment. Yes, after the 10 second count down the screen on the camera will go blank, however the camera is on and taking pictures. The screen will not give you any picture count or any trigger indication, but it is on! Hope this helps!
I formatted it...now once u turn it on and the countdown ends, can u notice it take a picture? Sounds or led colors? My camera does nothing..maybe I’m not waiting long enough after the countdown?
I have a 300 our trail camera and these cameras for 30 bucks or fantastic. I have two of them and I’d like to use them whenever I can. That’s OK that’s the only reason why I use one of my trail cameras at 300 box because it says pictures directly to my phone.
My 8 mp Tasco trail camera is not working. I have it angled 10 feet away from the intended target with nothing blocking the way. I have a 32 gb sandisk with a micro sd card in an adapter to make it a normal sd card. The camera has new batteries and it’s taking video and the motion is working good. The sd card is not full. When I put the sd card in my computer it plays videos it picked up but all it is is a black screen. Even when it is day. I really need help and I lost the return receipt. Please help me research the problem.
This is the first i've heard of this. I would try the following: 1.) Different card, and maybe try using a regular SD card instead of a micro in an adapter. 2.) Return the camera settings to default. 3.) Make sure to format the card. Hopefully, one of these will fix your issue.
Can I format the cards on my computer and then put them in and just turn it on? Or does it have to be done through the camera? I've had the same thing happen with other cameras, but if it was a formatted card I was fine. Thanks
Thanks for the comment, Chris! I'm not sure, I've never tried formatting the SD card on the computer. I've always done it through the camera. If you try formatting via the computer, let us know if it works!
When you open the front camera cover, look towards the bottom of the camera. There is a small, rectangular button, push that and it will release the battery tray.
Damn it what if I didn’t format the card I just put it in the camera and turned it on I didn’t read the instructions that well will my camera still take pictures
you may still be okay. I've talked to other people and there tasco cams have worked without formatting the card, especially if the card is brand new. I guess you'll find out when you check it! In the future, safest thing to do is format the card each time you put a fresh one in.
Thanks man and hey we’re not too far from eachother man I’m hunting on the Menominee reservation so we got some dandy deer out by us too hope to see some nice deer on your page soon 🤙🏽
If you will take a gallon plastic water or milk jug cut it and take a bungee cord and put it over the camera it will keep the water and snow and ice off of it and will make it last a long time.I have 4 of these that i have had running for 5 years now no problems just have to change the battery's.
Hey John, thanks for your comment. No, these do not. I will say, the battery life has been as advertised (6 months) unless the weather is extremely cold. If the batteries are low, you will usually find that the camera just shuts off when you switch it from "setup mode" to "on." Also, when batteries get low the camera can be fussy accepting SD cards. Hope this helps you!
Will the human eye see these at night? I need to catch a group of thieves who are breaking in on property I don't live at. I need to learn best hiding tricks ,but if they flash like a flash powder they will take these as well.
Hey Phil. Yes a human could see the infrared flash. It looks like a red light turning on. If you had the cameras above a human's line of sight, pointing down, they may not see it. Or, you can spend a little extra money and get a camera that has blackflash (no visible flash). Another option would be a cellular camera that will text/email pictures to you. I've also heard of a few brands now incorporating GPS tracking into these cameras in the event they are stole. Only problem is cellular cameras are pretty expensive. Hope this helps and sorry to hear about property. Hope you catch them!
