In the tragic circumstances of Jordan Begley an Inquest jury found that Taser was a contributory factor in his death amongst other factors. Nothing is risk free. Officers sometimes have split second decisions to make and consider using a number of tactical options. Some are instantly available ; communication, hands on, Pava, baton, Taser. Some require other officers : dogs, Firearms, shields, etc.
If a taser is deployed you have placed an officer in such danger that they have needed to aim and threaten you with a teaser and you have carried on attempting to kill or maim the officer. There are three alternatives 1) let them go and put the public at further risk 2) allow a police officer to be killed or maimed 3) deploy a ARV a shoot the subject, which in case you didn't know is far worse than being tasered
