On the Taskmaster podcast, Lou was a guest and said she felt bad for Iain because she felt the team task was edited unfairly. She said she was being pretty annoying as well and her and Iain are good friends, so she wasn't really bothered. It definitely made me like him more as someone he rubbed the wrong way (so did his appearance on the podcast)

I've heard Iain Sterling talk about being on Taskmaster (quite possibly on the Taskmaster podcast, but I can't be sure), and he said he was only being sharp with Lou because they were already friends, but he didn't realise how harsh he was being until he saw it back and was like 'oh fuuuck...' At the time I wasn't keen on Iain, but he's alright 👍 (I could talk all day about Taskmaster, but I just wanted to put this out) Really enjoy your videos Adam! Hope you're doing well, and greetings from Wales :)

I really enjoyed the bickering actually, Taskmaster has become a bit of a cosy wholesome thing in the later seasons, and I sometimes miss contestants being a bit more competitive :)

I personally think Iain redeemed himself by being obviously upset about the way he'd let his competitiveness take over. We've all acted like an arse, it's just our arsiness isn't televised lol

Ian grew on me on rewatches. I think if you do taskmaster with a good friend (Lou and Ian are irl friends) it is more entertaining to be aggressive. It does make him look a bit unsympathetic but he adds a lot to the series entertainment value imo 😁

Yeah some of my favorite contestants have been the ones that take it quite seriously and are a bit more competitive than might be good for them (best is when they screw themselves over or when their efforts hilariously backfire.. like Iain's volcano bit).

I’m surprised no one tried tying the loo roll before throwing it. Make sure it doesn’t come undone. Put an elastic band around it. Tie some string. Tape.

Yeah, I felt like Frank Skinner going "they'll probably go at it for 20 minutes before they realize they gotta wet the tea bags" but "tie the roll up" instead 😂

Never really had much of a problem with Iain. Love it when people take these silly tasks more seriously than they reasonably should. Therefore his agitated behavior always came across as funny rather than annoying to me, so I'm surprised to find out not everyone thought that way.

Series 19 will only be 6 years after series 8, assuming they continue as they are doing.

She was on the taskmaster podcast, I think she was maybe 7 then? It’s whatever episode was talking about this episode and her dad, director andy Cartwright, was the guest.

You'd be surprised how many comedians/comic actors are ex-doctors. Graeme Garden (The Goodies) Harry Hill (asked if he wanted to go back to being a doctor when Covid happened, told them to FO) Paul Sinha Your man from My Parents Are Aliens & Fresh Meat, Tony Gardner Phil Hammond probably doesn't count as he is a journalist, comedian, and speaker but still works in the NHS Mike Wozniak (also a GP like Sinha) Graham Chapman from Monty Python studied medicine and was going into a medical career when they got big None of them women, which is odd, I guess. Closest you get is probably an ex-psychiatric nurse like Jo Brand. I am sure I am missing some here...

The pan hoop task is so entertaining (also glad no one got hurt from Sian's sideways throw) And yea like you said, it's one thing to just have aggressive arguments on the show every so often which can be v funny, but what feels grating there was that it was actively disrespectful and I think Iain realised that too and apologised. Glad they're still friends tho! Iain and Lou, as Lou has talked about before, are both ao competitive and that can get in each other's way, but even she apologised during that task itself, they know when it's getting too far, and that's okay. Definitely one of the moments that I cringed a lot at first time around but is actually not that bad on rewatches (like with Ed and Baddiel, James and Rhod which was even more intense and longer, and Daisy and Richard which also she had immediately said she felt bad about and wasn't as awful as people make it out to be in the bigger picture)

I was also one of the rare few on Iain’s side 😂 I don’t agree with the anger and sharp tone he had no, but I agree with everything he said nonetheless 😊

Not afraid to admit I’ve had a crush on Sian ever since I saw her in Phoenix Nights. Also, fk Iain for spelling our name wrong. Look out for them taking the toilet paper task to a whole new level in a future series (Think it’s series 14)

Series 8 is... one of those odd ones, like 6, that I always skip in my mind when I think of the show. Outside of the first and last episode of this series, I don't really think much of it at all.

The sneak up on Alex task is regularly cited as one people would like to try.

I think the reason why I also dislike Ian a bit is cause he is taking it TO SERIOUSLY. I know many take these silly things very seriously, but Ian does it to a degree it really takes the fun out of it at times.

I fail to see how Ian is annoying when Lou is 10x worse and more whiny

I couldn't stand Lou. Iain taking stuff seriously was the best part for me. I liked Joe and Sian. Paul was meh. But my dislike for Lou is so intense I never rewatched this series. For me this is almost as bad as series 10, when I realized I'm over this show. Series 11 gave me a bit of hope but it didn't get me back, although I give every new season another chance. I'm glad I got a chance to re-live the first seasons with these reactions.

i don't think i've ever heard a take i disagree with more, i love lou, and season 10 is easily one of my top picks for the best of the whole show. i am sorry to hear you're "over the show", though, i've had that happen with other series. it never feels good. if you're really not enjoying it, there's absolutely no shame in pursuing other shows, and just sticking with rewatching the same 4 or 5 or so seasons of this. don't feel like you're pressured to watch something just because you used to like it.

Lou Sanders is a one-trick pony destroying any progress made by women to gain respect in comedy in the last x years, IMO. Her whole schtick is irritating, resorting to tantrums when she doesn't get her own way - and I never know if she's acting up or is actually this dim and vapid. All I really know is that her "character" absolutely has daddy issues. But things are subjective so I'm not going to tell others not to like her.

Yeahhhh. Iain is just an unlikeable human being all around, but it's good to know they were friends... which is why she put up with that verbal abuse. It didn't sound friendly tbh. Not like banter or anything near.
