Horse or laminator is up there with the rabbits-in-the-hat task from Series 3 for the most points ever given for a single task, but it is slightly less infamous because they never could have guessed she'd get that many. Katherine Ryan also got more points than they thought possible by stealing other people's rabbits, but people still get more mad about that one since it messes up points-per-task contestant rankings and other statistics. From here on, they will tally any task-specific points and then award 5 TM points to the contestant with the most, and so on.
@@MrStsveins exactly. And it's hard to be angry at Katherine for the rabbit task, more at those who designed the task order decided to give real points for each one.
So I'm surprised no one noticed this in the last task, but I'm pretty sure that Jo was using the reflection in Greg's glasses (or some other reflection) to get the cards. The reflection was probably blocked when all of the other contestants walked behind Greg which is why she only got one more after that point.
She addressed people like you on the podcast. She laughed at you and denied it. So, if you stick with that opinion, you are not only accusing her of cheating but calling her a liar as well.
@@dgpatterI don't know why you think I was trying to bash her. I think it was impressive and it's not cheating since looking at reflections was never against the rules. It's just like any other hack for a task. Of course she would deny it. She wouldn't be able to claim to be psychic if she admitted it and denying it maintains the more interesting narrative
@@eitanshapiro862 honestly the main reason that makes me suspect fiddling is the fact she very specifically didn't steal the episode from Katy - but I can't decide if her total lack of competitiveness would drive her to bother, or if her impish disrespect would drive her to wreak havoc when an easy opportunity presented itself. either way, I do think she'd have felt like an arsehole for winning by cheating all the same and confessed eventually
this is definitely one of the all-time great episodes for me. we learn that david baddiel lacks basic reading comprehension. jo refusing greg's pity point, and arguing her way to 3 points in the most roundabout way possible, is such a hilarious moment that *still* doesn't beat the incredible feat of horse or laminator. the tasks may not be the best in this episode, but the contestants certainly are.
Jo has never revealed her secret and of course it could all have been pure luck, but I personally believe she was watching the reflection in Greg’s glasses LOL!
@@Wiley_Coyote given that they film over several days and do way more tasks than they actually air, he probably did poorly in 1 or 2 of the early ones, saw that it made Alex and the crew laugh and then exaggerated it across the rest of the time. He definitely does in the live tasks
Jo has a few genuinely witchy moments of intuition. It seems like Katy has a little if that too, at times! Katy had the time out for an emergency operation. She talks about it on a recent episode of Ed and James' brilliant Off Menu podcast.
My Mount Rushmore of Taskmaster contestants would be Joe Wilkinson, Mel Giedroyc, Bob Mortimer and Kerry Godliman. Incidentally, I went to Mount Rushmore about 6 months ago... It's astonishing how much the movies lie to you. I'd always been given the impression that the entire mountain had been carved out, when in truth it's only roughly the top third of it.
I can't give my Mount Rushmore of Taskmaster contestants because at least three of them are from future series and I don't want to spoil you for any performances.
David is someone I assumed before watching the series would do well and he's the exact opposite of that. Jo is one of those older legends who don't give a sh!t and thats the entrainment for us
A personal Taskmaster mount Rushmore is an interesting idea! I am going to struggle to narrow it down but let's have a go at this! (PS is it 4 or 5 faces? I will go with 5 lol) 1. James Acaster, 2. Bob Mortimer, 3. Liza Tarbuck, 4. Mike Wozniak (series 11, you will see!), 5. Rhod Gilbert. I have gone for the people who have stood out most to me in terms of creating lasting memories and incredible moments. I could have included several more but it's difficult to narrow down.
I'm struggling to choose my Mount Rushmore of Taskmaster contestants because there have been so many great ones to pick from. Maybe Mel G, Rhod Gilbert, Sally Phillips and James Acaster from the ones you've met so far (my all-time favourite contestant is from a future series, but I won't name them because of spoilers).
I don’t think it’s fixed… but I feel they put tasks in specific episodes to make sure everyone gets a win. -- so tasks 1, 13, and 27 Rose killed it, that’s episode 1. And so on
Thing is that's not really possible as Greg is awarding the points on the fly during the taping. They might have an idea how people did, but Greg could award a weird point spread for one task and screw it up. Plus the live studio task.
Alex Horne has specifically said that they don't do that. But I don't believe him, because it happens too often that a contestant that doesn't typically win, suddenly wins all 3 recorded tasks in an episode plus they get a prize task or studio win which seals the deal on their episode win.
I'd have done Mount Rushmore in one of the bunkers of the golf course. If they'd complained that I didn't have the right to do that, I'd have said that that was the point. The people who carved Mount Rushmore didn't have the right to do it either. It's on stolen land.
I have to ask, do you think that David Baddiel is the worst ever at solving tasks out of everyone that ends up last in a series? (I know we still got some episodes left, but honestly, we all know it's going to be David this time. XD)
no idea what are you talking about, I thought david baddiel was great this episode, his mount rushmore was by far the best one, you need to leave your biases at the door with each new episode
