The champion of champions episode came out this week, hopefully you check it out Bridget Christe "walking" to House Queens was one of the funniest moments in Taskmaster history
It goes so quick when you're having fun I think this is the best cast ever because of the way they have all connected with each other but bring on the next series and prove me wrong 💪
You can tell by Alex's voice in the duck task when he says to Bridget, "I'm sure you're making the most of it," that this was probably right after the shoe finding task. He's pretty much done with her at this point!
On the assumption that all the non-house tasks were on the same complex somewhere, Bridget really had trouble with all of those, I now realise. The Maypole, the cup snake, the dramatic meeting (as clever as hers was), the church shoes and the duck DQ... pretty sure she was 2nd last at best in all five.
@@AmazingChi Yeah, the non-house tasks were filmed at the Chiltern Open Air Museum. The maypole and the church in the shoe task can actually be seen in the background during the duck task.
It's been the best constantly good series , and Sophie is a worthy winner but they have all enhanced their reputation , I haven't laughed so much for a long time . The tasks have been memorably great . Special mention to the production team , there have been some brilliant tasks , Alex pedalling in circles and the Housequeens will go down as classic . It's always interesting to see Neil's reaction to this show . It's always interesting , funny and hopefully will keep up the standard with the next series .
I think Sophie got a couple of generous bonus points in the final episode (for the prize and final task) but thankfully she had a 3 point lead, so it didn't matter. Both she or Chris would have been worthy winners. In fact, they are No.1 and 2 in the all time points per task list as well, which is mad.
James Acaster is like, the person I enjoy most from outside this show; but I'm pretty confident (having not seen some of these series in a while) that Judi is my fav person like, in this show. Just her whole energy, her whole vibe, her whole bop. She was great. I mean I'm a dork, for me some of her facial expressions were enough to seal the deal
The second Champion of Champions episode hit the screen in the UK here on Thursday, hope you get to react to that. An angry Ed Gamble, and Liza Tarbuck wearing a... well, you'll see. It's an absolute treat.
@@StMargorach They are, but something tells me one of the other ones ends up being fan favourite, as was the case in other seasons with "big name" comedians.
I keep coming back to 'that' dance. Just that small bit of the show is a perfect example of why Taskmaster, as a format, works so well. You could throw a lot of money at this show, spend months writing the script with the best comedians and writers, getting choreographers to come and teach them all dance moves, professional singer/songwriters to help with the song. And it still would not be as funny as just letting them get on with it. Over all the seasons there's been some of the funniest moments I've ever seen on TV. For some treason the most bizarre things seem to happen on this show. Things that would be close to impossible to recreate let alone script them... Joe Wilkinson's potato throw has to be one of the best TV show moments of all time. If that was scripted then it would still be being recorded because he could spend years trying to do what he did and it still wouldn't be as funny as the first take... Falling off the stage like Jessica. Things that can't be scripted. This show has hundreds of genuinely laugh out loud moments that just could not be achieved if there was a script and it was all preplanned. Real life will always provide funnier moments than anything else. Think back and remember the time you laughed the hardest. I bet it wasn't at a tv programme or a movie. It was with your friends in real life. I have a video of one of my friends in a Mummy costume for halloween. He made it himself out of real bandages and fully wrapped himself up like a mummy. The video is of him in a pub toilet trying to get his penis out to have a piss. After successfully doing that he can't get it back in. He's moving the bandages around and his scrotum pops out of one of the openings he's made. He's panicking because out taxi has arrived to take us into town and at this point other friends have come to see what's holding us up ad at this point we're all bent double with laughter and then he says "Some on please help me! The bandages around my ballbag is getting tighter and I'm scared it might cut it open"... I honestly though I was going to die laughing.
Bridget's just one of those creative and kind of in her own world sort of people, which means she'll do amazing in some things, and completely miss the point and lose her mind in others. Why would we want it any other way? She's one of my all time favourite TM contestants. I do chuckle and smile and find things funny in this show all the time but laughing out loud full on full belly laughter Bridget is the contestant who gave me the most of those. There's sooo many awesome contestants it's hard to pick favourite, but she and Morgana were two of my faves. Both bonkers but in completely different ways. Morgana was consistently good most of time, but she was far from boring in that.
I think we've gotten to the point when ranking TM series against each other is a fool's errand - series 12 was *fantastic, but the return of the studio audience brought a welcome fresh energy to s13. That said: while the House Queens were great, if you think they're anywhere near the heights of the Rosalind songs, you need to go back and rewatch that task - the single TM task that I revisit on a regular basis.
Absolutely right all the previous series have had highs and lows , but for sheer consistency I think this one has been great . The previous two were hampered by covid restrictions and the studio tasks were much better staged and thought out , which probably explains why they were the weakest element of this series .
"Sometimes Bridget's a genius, and sometimes not, and I thought this was going to be one of the 'sometimes not' times" Yeah, about that... P.S. - She's like Rhod Gilbert, right? 80% of the time he was kind of shit, and then 20% of the time he had a completely original approach to the task that solved it in a way no one else did.
@@Ffinity Maybe that's why they said 'both' as in, Bridget also missed it. If we're talking about which comments have value, Azimov's is magnitudes higher in value than yours.
I would LOVE for you to react to the Danish version, Stormester, as well when possible, it’s so good ! Also died laughing from Bridget’s “walks” during this season xD And House Queens is a banger, also up there with Rosalind’s a Fucking Nightmare xD
@@icturner23 I would agree that the first season of Stormester is the weakest, still funny tho, but the following seasons get funnier and funnier :D Heino is great, and in the latest season, Linda P is hilarious!!
There's the new Champions of Champions Special on C4 so you should be able to see it soon :) Also cast for next season already announced. Have you seen all the series?
The relentless chaos of this episode was incredible. There was a depressing murmur about this being the "woke diversity season" (and the usual "I don't know them, they seem rubbish") but god, if that had been the point, it's unarguably proved itself.
Excellent series. The new season has been announced as coming soon, cast has some exciting participants but sure the whole group will be good. Hope you enjoy the champion of champions 2 episode, one episode is never enough for those but it was a good one
I just looked up the series 14 cast and blimey there really are some top names in that lineup! 2 definite A Listers on there, 2 Bs and a newcomer. Should be interesting!
Even if Bridget hadn't held multiple ducks when putting them in the basket, she was carrying loads when taking the basket off. It only would've been a valid tactic if she took it off at the start when it was still empty.
They didn't do a task for just one person, that no one else had to do. Also we a only had one tie vbreaker, so Ihope the release some of the unssen tasks in an unseen bits video.
I really enjoyed this series and liked the cast a lot. I don't think they were necessarily the most creative cast (imagine what Bob Mortimer or Sally Philips would have done with the multi-track song task?) but they were very likeable and fun.
It's weird how some people get worked up about a slight error in what DNA stands for. Does it really matter? I guess it must be something in their deoxynucleic acid...
I hate how the duck one was left until the end, seeing it in the open every week made me question "what the hell is that task?!" and it finally got shown lol
I think there have been other episodes from series that have been as good or marginally better , but the overall consistent excellence of this one makes it stand out . But it's all down to opinion .
