We leave Strahan and make our way to Queenstown where we set up at the football oval and explore the area from there, visiting places like the Nelson and Horseshoe Falls as well as other various lookouts. We take steam train ride with the West Coast Wilderness Railway from Queenstown to the Lynchford area. All this and so much more in this week’s video.

👍..... Done it again mate with vivid memories of my youth firing steam locos. Always a pleasure viewing and listening to your commentory.. Cheers Mick & Sally...👍 HAPPY EASTER

Your videos are wonderful and relaxing, and the narration is superb, I also liked the change in the music in this one, specifically the piano. I'm a yank living in Missouri, always wanted to visit Australia and New Zealand, but too old and infirm to do it now. You take me there through these videos, thanks so much !!!

yet another delightful walk down memory lane. Both times we have been there it has had more rain but it sure is dry when some of those falls are not playing well. Our fav was .Nelson Falls too. The birdlife was also great. On our walk out to the horseshoe falls it was pouring down lol this time last year. Those mountains are bare due to the smelting practices rather than all mining. Your right about Queenstown, very under rated.

We would enjoy a walk into the falls when they are flowing with heaps of water, perhaps another time.

Between your interesting vlogs/Facebook and instagram (daughter) we are enjoying our trip down memory lane❤💙. We visited Queenstown on a Sunday - it was asleep!! Port Arthur was special and we missed the turn off to Dunalley!! Have a restful rest of Easter- safe travelling thanks Jan & Kam ( still in Q - daughter had a fall- mum to the rescue😊)

Beautiful spot around Derwent Bridge some stunning lakes. Hope you enjoyed the steep drive ripper isn't it. We loved Queenstown not sure why any negatives.Safe travels.

The steep drives are a little daunting to the uneducated but once you have been here for a while they seem to become a little bit more normal. The lakes and sea waterways in Tasmania are so stunning, just so good to look at.

Thanks Mick - thoroughly enjoying your Tassie trip. I visited Queenstown in 2003 & the landscape was barren due to mining. I can see some regeneration happening. Cheers

We thought Queenstown was a beautiful town too. Like you I prefer to make my own opinions of a place… I don’t rely on reviews. We stayed at Brady’s Lake on the slalom river side.

Queenstown through to Brady's Lake impressed us no end. In saying that, Tassie has done that for us anywhere that we have been so far.

@justcruisinwithmicksally837
@justcruisinwithmicksally837 6 месяцев назад
Hello JPhB, unfortunately there are a lot of restrictions where we are not permitted to fly a drone, National Parks being one of them. Tasmania consists of a lot of National parks so there are not too many spots where one can be used here.

Thank you for another enjoyable walk down memory lane. Queenstown, was very dry but having said that, it is a lot greener than it was in 2010 with the pines growing on the hillside. When I saw it in the November of 2010 it was raining so I could see the horseshoe falls from the main road & the driver told us to look. but the mountain side was like being on the moon with nothing growing but the odd little green shrub here & there. We came from Hobart so going down that mountain into Queenstown on a wet day was very scary!! I was on the passenger side!! We had lunch at the Derwent Hotel & it was yummy & plentiful!! Then we went & saw the carving, so I am wondering now how far he is with it 14 years later! I bought a stack of postcards to put in my album. So maybe I should try & contact them & see if they have postcards that are more recent to buy!! It was spectacular. My dad didn't go inside because it was an extra fee but he missed a real treat, silly man as it wasn't that much dearer for him as a pensioner!! It was after that stop that we passed the stone monument that signaled that we were in the centre of Tasmania & I got out of the bus to take photos of it. So it was 150 km from there to the coast in a circle. I also enjoyed the walk to the falls, there was one other place on a river closer to Hobart where I thought it was fabulous, near the walk over the top of the trees which you may do in a future trip. I would get my albums out but my eyes are not good at the moment & I am waiting for my eye appointment Thursday week to see what the extent of my problems are. Once fixed, no doubt I will get my albums out & watch your videos over again as I can never get enough of the beauty of that State. We don't have mountains like that in NSW to enjoy or the wildlife!! See you next Friday!

I would like to see some photos of Queenstown from many years ago just to compare what it was like then as to how it looks now. I am sure my sister may have some as she has commented to me on how different it looks now from when she was there so many years ago. Take care and look after that eyesight, hope it gets back to normal soon for you.🙏🙏🙂
