We just purchased Hebrew National Hot Dogs from Costco during one of their email warehouse sales. We usually eat Nathan's Hot Dogs, so we had to do a taste challenge between the two.
How to cook Hebrew National or Nathan's Hot Dog.
Use Medium Heat. Put a little butter in a frying pan, put the hot dogs in. Keep turning until done and lightly browned on all sides. Serve in hot dog buns. Use any condiment you like - mustard, ketchup, relish, chili, onions, etc.
Which one is better? Which one won the taste test.

These are both excellent hot dogs. I cook mine in my air fryer for about 8-10 minutes. Delicous!

They’re both mighty good. I think it’s more how you cook it than just the product itself. Also, a good quality bun makes a huge difference as well.

i brought hotdogs to the office today. I got the Hebrew National. I put them in a crockpot in the morning and they were ready at noon. They were good.

I boil my hot dogs. You bring the water to a boil, out the dogs in, and turn the water off. Wait 10 minutes and they're perfect. Hot and firm.

I would go with Hebrew National the difference in protein per serving is telling.

The big difference is that while both are 12oz packages, the Nathan's pack has 8 dogs, while the HN pack has only 7. Each dog may be slightly larger, but you get one less total in the package.

That's how I cook my hot dogs too. Have you ever tried toasting your buns in butter too, oh my goodness they're delicious, my son loves when we have hot dogs because of the toasted buns lol.

I wonder how they would stack up with the Costco All beef hotdog. We used to be able to get Nathen's in Ontario but not anymore. That was my favourite but Costco makes a good hotdog and Polish Sausage.

There’s 7 hot dogs in the Hebrew national package from Costco but only 6 in a package from Walmart. It doesn’t make sense. Also I paid $11.99 for a 4 pack and that’s cheap. If you paid $6.99 2 years ago that’s insane

Hebrew National is my go to! Buying the multipack at Costco is such a great deal. Hebrew's at Fred Meyer or somewhere are so expensive, but still worth it. I'll pickup a Nathan's next time I see it on sale.

Mine are Caspers. I steam them in the instant pot and they are so good! They are a chain based in California and also sell their dogs at the supermarket.

My favorite hotdog is the Sam's club hotdogs, (the same ones you get from the food court) Always get 3-4 packages of them. Have you tried them?

What about boiling them in beer? I've had awesome results out of doing that and serve with rice and cabbage.

Hebrew National is all we buy but if you buy the regular package in the grocery store you only get 7. We typically buy two 20 packs so the hot dog to bun ratio evens out.

2024: 4 packs of Hebrew National hotdogs pakages are $12 at Costco. So, doubled in price within 3 years.

I have been curious about Hebrew national dogs and Nathans too. I like how you said that Hebrew seems to have more spices. I get migraines and have to watch spices, but both would be safer for me than other brands that have unhealthy ingredients in them (soy, MSG, etc). I'm going grocery shopping in a little while and I'll decide then. I hope I can find some good hot dog buns there too. Thanks.

I just tried the Hebrew national dogs and was pleasantly surprised with the taste and quality. I definitely like them better over Nathan's I do dislike how small they were though. The HN dogs are more suited for a regular slice of white bread

Next time grill them, no butter H-N better cuts of meat and the curing process is longer. H-N is slightly better.

What possible reason could you have for rinsing the juice off your dogs before cooking them… just why… that’s like rinsing your noodles after cooking them

The only two hot dogs that I ever buy. All those other ones they can stay on the shelf. As a chef I just throw them in the pan put a lid on top, let them seer up real good on all sides. (Your moving them to much)...let the cook 1 to 2 min on each side.

Both are good, but I am from the midwest. It's Vienna Beef all the way! However, Aunt Millie's is the best. And from right here in Indiana.

Hebrew National has "more spices." Talk about NOT A CLUE! Spices? There are ZERO spices in a HN hotdog. There is ONLY A TON OF SALT! Spices 😂😂😂! Let me guess, you also like the Ford motor in your Toyota.
