I am so pleased you got to do a Dutch snack box! I have a Dutch mother so grew up on the ginger cake and stroop waffles - which you can get in Lidl at Xmas. Also stumpot is SO good and so comforting as a meal my mum used to make that with Dutch sausage too. It was amazing. I will message you in what to have there. If you ever want to go! Also a J is always pronounced as a Y Lol it's very confusing! 😂😂 Also don't need to go round Amsterdam on a bike it's very pedestrianised lol I enjoyed this alot it was very nostalgic
I lived in the Netherlands, if you really want to go to Amsterdam go during pride or kings day …but really there’s much more interesting places than Amsterdam ( I lived in Amsterdam for a while and then moved to another city just outside ) …the people are lovely , you don’t need a bike !😂buses and trams run pretty much 24/7 and are pretty safe …in Amsterdam be careful around central station as lots of drug dealers and scammers sadly getting worse year by year …I would stay away from the red light district ….you can smell it from at least 3 streets away !! 🤢 I would recommend the canal side ‘flea markets ‘ ,the main park and some really fun rock/indie bars ….oh and if you buy sweets remember liquorice is heavily salted as standard !! So look for sweet liquorice….and a night cruise on the canal with dinner included ( most let you take a little souvenir dish home) is well worth it 🙂🙂🙂

I was in Amsterdam last weekend loved the canals and a great vibe…I was in Stockholm and my flight home was to Amsterdam then Dublin but due to IT issue last Friday our Dublin flight was cancelled and we didn’t get out until Monday night. Unplanned but it was fun…
Hi Shannon sweetheart , yes, I've been to Amsterdam 4 times. The first time, i was just age 14, and my cousin and i went on our own without telling our parents! We caught the coach at Victoria coach station on the Friday and called our mums from a telephone box, then hung up!!! This was before mobiles, lol. Then came back on Sunday. We had no accommodation and ended up sleeping on a canal boat. Mum was furious, but I brought her some cheese and clogs, then she was ok!!! We had a great time ! I was a rebel.
Omg Shan, YES YES YES to going to Amsterdam there’s so much to do and visit when there, I’ve gone many many times over the years, love it 😂 if you do DEFINITELY stay on a boat/barge, I loved opening the boat window sitting feeding the ducks and saying hello to the other tourists on boat trips passing by ❤️ cake shops open Virtually 24 hours BRILLIANT 😂 you don’t need to cycle get the trams BUT 😂😂 DO KEEP AN EYE on the cyclists and remember to look both ways on the roads they may not have many cars in some places but I’ve seen many people not checking properly getting knocked down by cyclists, would make a great long weekend get away with Dan but also a great couples/friends(share the cost) let’s have a laugh holiday ❤
