2:30 Yes! It's perfectly safe to eat ramen noodles raw, they're flash-fried at the factory, so they're essentially already cooked. You just soften them in boiling water! Usually people will sprinkle the seasoning (or the noodles will already be seasoned in the packet) and eat them as a crunchy, on the go snack.

I never knew this was a thing! I thought I was just strange for munching on a piece or two while getting lunch together. 😂🤣

I am a real noodle lover, Indomie are a good brand here too and I have had (and enjoyed) the onion chicken flavour before. Glad you liked the noodles man :)

It's so cool to see food I'm familiar with (Indomie) available all the way in Africa!

That little packet of oil looks like sesame oil, which is used more as a flavoring than a cooking medium. Be sparing with it, as the flavor can be strong and overpower other flavors.

I buy Indomie noodles in bulk from Amazon. We used to live in Indonesia and fell in love with the flavor.

Longpepper is much better than black pepper. I hope you can get some and compare.

I love black pepper, but that was *a lot* of it! Glad you had a chance to try some new types. Frying up some onions and scotch bonnets in a little oil, take them out of the pan, make the noodles with the flavoured oil left in the pan, and then adding back the veggies would be good!

You could scramble an egg in the oil after removing the veggies (drop the heat and/or lift the pan off the element), then take it out to cook the noodles. Delicious and a little more substantial, too.

If that is pulverized Black pepper it will turn grayish.Cracked is black and white,whole is black,though green and pink are rarer types.I wouldn't eat the noodles raw,they are extremely hard and sharp and may not be perfectly sterile.Fresh ground black pepper is more fragrant.The commonest of this type of noodles here are chicken,beef,shrimp,which are salty and taste of the named meat.There are also spicy versions and chile lime versions.There are also incredibly hot bright red ones eaten as a challenge.Even you might find them difficult to finish.Black pepper tastes best on breakfast eggs.Cracked black pepper is sometimes used to dredge meat in.Black Pepper Beef jerky is very good as is steak.

I don't eat ramen much - I don't really need all that salt - but when I do, I always buy Ottogi Jin Ramen (spicy version). I make it more like a soup, with a lot of liquid. I don't know those brands - they might be available in Canada, lots of brands are, but I don't remember seeing them. I never add black pepper to them, although I use black pepper on a lot of other foods. That's a different idea.

I thought about you the other day when the news reported om that a Nigerian man wasn't allowed into a Chinese supermarket in Nigeria because of him being black.....

how many chinese are in Nigeria that they can be so picky about customers? shouldn't make deals with china the belt and road thing is junk, they make infrastructure as cheap as possible so it all falls apart quick.
@MsAnpassad

@@GreatSageSunWukong Quite a lot throughout Africa, as China are working hard on making the African nations indebted to them.

@@MsAnpassad Yeah I thought it was more their money then their people but I guess they wouldn't give the locals jobs to build as thats a lost business opportunity for themselves, and lord knows they have a lot of unemployed and their economy is shrinking because people in the rest of the world are not buying tonnes of cheap tat anymore.

You can eat instant noodles raw. I know people that eat them with the seasoning packets and no water.

I'm curious, how expensive is ramen considered in Nigeria? In the USA it's considered like the cheapest food you can get at the store. Is it the same there? It more of a midrange expensive thing because of being processed and imported?
