Wow those look delicious! I was wondering how common is it for wasps to nest in the fig fruit? I heard it does happen so it has made me reconsider growing them someday when I have more land. I do love the taste of figs though. Thank you Misilla!❤

Hi Mary! Thank you! Common figs, ones that are sold at most nurseries are self pollinating and don’t require the fig wasp to transfer pollen. If you’re in a mild climate, early ripening varieties and ones that produce good early/breba crops should do well. We love Desert King and Peter’s Honey. We have several young ones that are not mature yet to fruit, but I’ll show them in the near future. I hope you have a great weekend!❤️😍

Hi Mary yes except the second crop on the desert king needs to be pollinated or caprified by the fig wasp. It also produces a great early or breba crop. Peter’s honey is a good one too and Violet de Bourdeux.
