Sambal is a chillie sauce or paste typically made from a mixture of a variety of fresh and dried chillie peppers with secondary ingredients such as garlic, shallots, ginger, candlenuts, or shrimp paste. My recipe is easy and uses only a few ingredients. It is spicy but not hot which I think is ideal for many people. It is than stir fried in a lot of oil until the mixture separates from the oil.
Traditional sambal are freshly made using traditional tools such as the stone pestle & mortal.
But nowadays, for convenience we used the blender to do the job.
