I remember, it was 1.2 paisa per second when it was introduced, I used it. Later they made it 1 paisa per second when other operators also started following it. We were the most happiest ppl on the earth when this concept was introduced 😅. But as there was no concept of porting among different operators, had to buy new Tata Docomo SIM card. Later Uninor n Aircel were introduced to the telecom market, I guess they started 1P/Sec.
Tata Docomo was a huge hit when it was launched, we went in queue to get a SIM card when 1 paise per second launched. It looks like their mistake was to collaborate with NTT Docomo; Being a top company Tata had opportunities to grow, but failed due to NTT partnership I believe.. If you see today, only Airtel & Jio are the major players and Vodafone, BSNL the other 2 bottom ones.. Airtel & Jio killed all other competitors, in fact Tata had potential to do the same but their story went in wrong direction

In my engineering I always used Tata Docomo when all my working cousin used operators like Vodafone and others Signal quality is much better than Reliance Uninnor MTS and Aircel also brought same plans but they had poor call quality I feel Tata Docomo is one of the best in 2G and early 3G era😊
