I have an August 2017 Tata Hexa XE. It has done about 26400 kilometres during the last five years ( till 03/11/2022). All the driving was in city/highway. Last week I noticed a crack in the silencer and took the car to Tata Service Centre in Bhopal. Detailed inspection revealed four large cracks in the two portions/parts of the Tail Pipe Assembly Post Silencer and one large crack in the Assembly Main Silencer. I also learnt that this was a common problem in Tata Hexa due to which design of silencer has been changed and now comes with a single exhaust. I am surprised as to why Tata Motors hasn't recalled models with faulty parts for inspection/ replacement. I was plain lucky to have discovered the cracks by chance & replaced before complete breakdown somewhere enroute. It cost me Rs 19742/- including parts & labour. If you own a Tata Hexa please get the entire Silencer assembly checked for cracks as a precautionary measure.
Mere pass hexa ka XMA model hai feb 2020, aur 50,000 km chala di hai, bhai aaj bhi yeh king hai, meine yeh gadi 1600 km chalai hai 17 hrs mein , covid ke time mein, yeh no problem gaadi hai, 1. Naa ke baraber body roll 2. Driving position sabese zabardast, koi thakan nahin 1600 km chala ke bhi 3. Khade to sadak se gayab ho jate hain 4.windows itne badi hai ki sun roof ki zaroorat nahin. 5. Average mast 14-15 highway par. 6. Bhir mein esko aata dekh baki apneaap raasta de dete hain. 7.service cost very reasonable. 8. Automatic etna gazab hai , ki koi gaadi match nahi karsaakti, baki SUV wale dekhte reh jate hain. 9.siraf ek bahut problem hai ki second row ko fold karna bahut muskil hoti hai. 10. Aur hand brake to bhul jao, par automatic mein is ka role bahut minimal hai. 11. Hills par bahut achi performance 12. Ek dafa highway ban raha tha aur jam laga tha, mine dosri taraf se nikali jahan mitti mien buldozer chal rahe the, yeh araam se nikal gai or kam se kam 3kmt line wali sari garian dekhte reh gaye. .
9 point- same problem bhai bilkul isme bhi yahi problem he or safari new wali me bhi yahi dikkat he! Or 10 point handbrake wali problem bhi sahi Bata rhe ho bhai hexa is love♥️

Good car but after extended warranty I had issues. I have XTA 2017, 120000 km done and steering rack failure twice, turbocharger failure pushed me to change.
I own a 2017 Tata Hexa XE which has done around 33000km. Most of the running was on highways and in cities, no offroading at all. Quality of some its parts is quite bad. 1. My Car's silencer was cracked at five places (Three units). Despite being a known problem they didnt check it during warranty. Fortunately I noticed it later and had to pay appx 20000/- for change. 2. The new silencer was a modified one with single exhaust instead of original twin exhaust. This part was poorly designed and was touching lower body which should have been noticed during replacement. Again I was the one who noticed it and forced them to repair it. They have reluctantly made some jugaad and it now hangs quite low and looks very ugly. Dont know how long it will last? 3. The front wiper blades didnt even last two seasons. 4. The front airconditioning vent vertical adjusters broke on both sides quite early. 5. OVRM on right side has pitted most likely due to exposure to rain (developed black spots). Even maruti 800 mirror used to be of better quality. 6. Driver side window glass adjusting switch broke quite early. As the entire unit for all four windows needs to be changed it will cost 5500/-. 7. During last service at 33000 km three parts related to cooler and engine were found cracked or leaking and required replacemnt. Consequently engine coolant also needed to be replaced adding to the cost. 8. Front inner & outer ends were found defective during wheel alignment and needed replacement. 9. After the servicing the vehicle is making unusual noise on speed brakers and they say some rubber bushes need to be changed. 10. Steering wheel is sticking and making rubbing noise so they say entire steering column comes in one piece and needs to be changed @ 10500/- 11. The front air conditioner is making very irritating whistling noise since last two years. I have taken it for repairs twice. They have done servicing, filled gas and charged me on both ocassions but problem remains. 12. Both front & rear brake pads needed replacement at 33000 km despite single handed driving with good braking habits. 13. During last two services the car wasnt even cleaned proerly which was shown to their staff and they accepted. I had bought my car from Varenyam Motors Bhopal and all servicing and repairs were done by them. Repair and servicing so far has been unsatisfactory. Though I like the Hexa car road presence, handling, ride quality and comfort, I am not confident of taking it for long routes with family any more. It is both because of poor quality of parts and poor repair standards.
Adding to the problems faced in my 2017 Tata Hexa XE posted earlier I had an enroute breakdown while driving from Katni to Bhopal (distance 430km) on 25 June 2023. After driving for about 40 km my ABS light came on followed by another light. As it was 40⁰C plus temperature and my parents both aged 85 years were with me I decided to continue. However soon display went blank, ac & blower stopped working, all electricals i.e. lights, indicators, horn, wipers, windows operation everything stopped working. It became unbearably hot inside & I had no choice but to turn back. As soon as as I turned back engine stopped & failed to start. I had to arrange taxy for my parents to return to Katni and they had to wait in the scorching heat for nearly two hours by the roadside at 85+ years of age. I contacted Tata Motors roadside assistance which reached after nearly 3.5 hours from Jabalpur. Fortunately the vehicle took a jump start & I could drive 50 km to Jabalpur without electricals, horn, indicator etc. After dropping the vehicle & spending the entire day in 40⁰ C plus I (aged 58 years) had to arrange another taxy to return to Katni. The vehicle was in Jabalpur Tata Service Centre for three days during which the electrical system was checked and battery was charged. Apparently a 150 amp(?) fuse had melted causing a series of problems. I was charged about 3400/- for the repairs. After the repairs I had to take another taxy from Katni to Jabalpur, collected my vehicle & drove 350km to Bhopal but all shaken up. The entire episode cost me close to Rs 20000/- including change of travel plans. This Tata Hexa has done only about 34000km in appx four years of running. I am really scared to take this vehicle for any outstation trip, the very reason for which I had bought this SUV.
