If your budget is about 13 lakhs then grand vitara is the better option Yes Nexon is 5 star rated car but grand vitara is also a 4 star rated car and much better built than other maruti cars.. For the price you get creative variant in nexon and for 30k less you get sigma model in vitara and vitara has all the basic features covered.. you get convience features like frond and rear armrests which is not available in nexon creative.. you get rear disc brakes.. bigger boot.. way more leg space and roomier.. and you get a car above nexon’s segment.. yes the nexon’s engine is more powerful than vitara’s but it compromises on refinement, reliability and fuel economy.. And yes the nexon has a stronger built but not better.. it has so many quality issues.. you can make out the inconsistent panel gaps from 20 ft away.. Also the showroom and after sales experience of Tata is still not acceptable.. So if you want peace of mind experience for you and your family then go for vitara.. If you want a stronger built (only applicable till 64kmph as per GNCAP) and a couple of gimmicky features then go for tata nexon.. choice is yours
