I like how they seemed genuinely impressed by Angelina Jolie's tattoo. It really does look awesome on her, and the quality is clearly above and beyond most other celebrities' tatts.
It's because she got it tattooed the original way by hammer and needle. And they have respect to the original art and also how much pain she probably endured to get it that way.

Andrea Simic They obviously meant the guy on the right cause he has larger and more noticeable moustache, while other guy's moustache is part of his beard generally so he would be guy with the beard rather than with moustache.
Nicki Minaj's is messed up too, although not to that extent. Some of the characters are written incorrectly, most are written badly/barely legibly, and while the phrase does mean what I assume she believes it does (roughly, "God be with you always"), the way it's expressed is not how any native would say it.
it was on the arm he holds a mic with. so his mom could see it upright when he performs. so that was being nitpicky. they do that on the show all the time though with directions things face.
@@RensifyUK they're not cringing about the spelling, they're cringing because he's one of the most famous tattoo artists going. Which is stupid because like, who cares if people know him or not?
i'm guessing levine had his "mom" done upside-down so that it reads proper when he is holding a mic.? that's probably the view most fans are getting and loty6s of pics are getting taken.
He has admitted on the show that he loves crappy tattoos and has a lot of them. You just need to understand that his job is also to be the best and raise the art form so he has to be honest in his critiques.
I would love to see the uncut version of this video. The editing was practically cutting them off mid-sentence in favor of moving on to the next celebrity. What we have here feels like a sample, like its just a trailer for the real video.
don't love him too fast. he did full-on blackface, full-body makeup, wearing a superhero suit with a big "N" on the front. surprised and disgusted that gq decided to feature him after that. there are other talented artists who (at least??) aren't blatantly racist asf.
To say Tyson didn't care anymore when he got that tattoo, is actually probably an understatement. That guy was in another realm at that point in his life.
Kemuel Jacob watch their show "ink master" on spike tv if you liked this. i have zero tatoos but appreciate the way they explain the artistry and nuances of good tattooing.
Just want to point out Riri's tatt is a traditional polynesian tattoo. Chiseled into those knuckles. Painful, time consuming and intricate. Very similar method to Angie's tatt.
dude literally no. The arrows UNDERNEATH the henna is polynesian. Rihanna hated it after she got it done and then got the henna on top as like a quick cover up. She didn't understand what she was getting and a simple google search of henna tattoos would give you something much cooler than what she has tatted. Rihanna is cool but ya'll give her too much credit
It's not a Polynesian tattoo. She got it covered. It was firstly disrespectful of her not even understanding what the Polynesian tattoo was and then covering it cause she didn't like it was even more disrespectful. Love Riri but she is rich enough to do her reasearch for her tattoos.
Alisi Langi I agree. It must have been embarrassing to the original artist. Those pics of him doing it went all around the world and were deeply meaningful to the culture.
You can tell most male celebrities wanted the tattoos for the look of having a full sleeve. When you actually look at the tattoos individually they are trash and with Justin Bieber you can tell he had his done as a teen and that he'll regret them if he doesn't already... It would suck if you wanted to get an actual proper Artistic sleeve. Angelina has the best Tattoo in my opinion, the look is unique.
Some celebrities got tattoos earlier in their life. As tattoos are permanent, the lower quality ones don't just disappear because they are now very wealthy and have more access to famous artists.
When I first saw Angelinas tattoo I was like meh but seeing how it was done and how they tattoo, I have nothing but respect for her and the people who do that.
jroach408 a tattoo gun is the tool used to ink someone in a regular shop. the fact that you don't know this prove that you are a uneducated troll and you have no right to attempt to roast her. please remove yourslef.
I generally agree with you when it comes to face tattoos, you'll usually want to avoid them as they really tend to limit your career and dating options. But of course this is Mike Tyson we're talking about, I don't think he has to worry about either of those.
Are you talking about 虫? Because this Kanji is in so many other words, like 独 (lonliness) or basically every other insect. I would be interested to know if there are any other strokes involved as in the example above.
Pisaroto If it's Japanese it would be 蚊 for mosquito so yes it would have that kanji. Hope is 希望 so very different! I don't know for Chinese though. I'd be very interested to see what this brother had!
Mike Tyson's tattoo shows up Mustache dude: this is... the purest example... of... you just don't... care anymore BEST LINE EVER This guy is so chill and old school he even keeps a toothpick in his mouth
good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good. It blows my mind how many people throw this advice out the window and end up walking around looking like a 7th grader's sketch book threw up on them. Go to reputable shops, ask to see artist portfolios, and listen to the artists advice...trust me. they know more about tattoos than you do.
"Looking like a 7th grader's sketch book threw up on them"... LMAO!!! That should be more iconic than "Looking a fool with your pants on the ground" Smh LOL
Katelyn Brokaw see the trick is that you should only get inked about things that mean something to you. Some people just get it for the sake of it being latest fad
Don't get a tattoo of a language you don't speak. Don't get a tattoo of quotes that don't mean that much to you. Don't get a tattoo of what's trending. (dragons, tribal, barbwire).
I agree with all but the first point. I got love and beauty in kanji as a teen and had it written out by a friend and triple checked by several people before getting it done. I say do your homework before picking a tat in another language.
Im getting a dragon for my little sister but okay (my father got tattoos representing all of us when we were born. Mine was a unicorn hers was a dragon and my youngest was a mermaid so im getting a unicorn and a mermaid)
I agree with your first point but not the last one, tattoos are art so getting what looks cool and what you like is fine doesn’t always need to mean anything but that’s just my opinion
to be fair, her tattoo is a LOT more meaningful and less mangled than so many other Chinese tattoos ,there are these traditional and simplified characters and her tattoo has more meaning than my life
themodularmodular; I can't tell if you don't like Nicki or not, but there's SOOOOOOOO much more to Nicki than just her twerking. Her personality is gold, and her heart is pure 24 karat diamonds 💙❤️💙❤️💙
The funniest thing is Cara delivigne didn't want that lion portrait originally. In an interview with her tattoo artist, he said she originally wanted "lion" in lettering down her finger, but he convinced her the portrait would be better 🙃
Why not to get a kanji/Chinese tattoo: the characters done by non-Chinese reading tattoo artists ALWAYS comes out like bad handwritting to native-readers, because they are not familiar with the proportions of the characters. While the one on Nicki Minaj technically does not contain "wrong" characters (though the the "you" should probably be a feminime "you"), it looks like it was written by a 2nd graders using crayons.
Can confirm. The tattoo directly translates to something like "high lord is by your side", or in a more artistic way, "The arisen lord be with you" The letters are chunky and blocky. The wrong gender of the "you" character in itself is hilarious, given that it implies that the tattoo artist has a very weak grasp on the language. While I'd say the writing isn't bad, just normal and lifeless, (imagine someone's handwriting looking like Times New Roman), there is no depth or dynamics to the characters. Usually good-looking Chinese writing has thin strokes that are stunted at the ends, long contrasting strokes, and a feeling of flowing power. If that sounds pretentious to you, just imagine calligraphy, but in Chinese characters.
It’s funny to see them like this, because Chris is very strict on the show, and Oliver is more Strict here. Completely opposite than they are on the show!
The Jamie Foxx Tattoo looks like it's supposed to cover up a scar, which would be in the place where in old times people would have skin removed for a hair transplant.
I thought this video was just going to slam celebrities but they guys gave credit where it was due. I really love Angelina's tattoo, and Ed Sheerans. I think the YOLO tattoo is kinda cool and probably something that won't be too offensive in the future.
It would seem Adam Lavine's mom tattoo is upside down so that it looks right side up when he's holding a microphone? Clever nod to the fact that he makes his living as a singer if you ask me.
