I'm sorry for my bad english. Is it better not to apply ointment or lotion to our tattoo on the first day? I mean to clean with soap and water only in the first 24 hours and not apply a care cream on it.
@JonoSmithTattoo
@JonoSmithTattoo 2 года назад
I find it’s better to apply cream immediately after the tattoo is completed.

A&D cream is much better than the awfull vaselin.Further more it is time for tattooers to give up cheap tricks and offer quality for the money they get from the customer. Using a nice butter costs nothing compared to the money earned for the job , + gives the customer the care they should have.

A&D cream is 99% petroleum jelly with added vitamin A and D

King Suzuki GSX couldn't have said it better. I'm sure hustle butter is soothing as well and Vaseline is too thick it seems more of a barrier because it stops some ink from going in.

I want to know if this goes good for colours, I mean if it helps to avoid the mixing colours when you're tattoing. anything to say ?
@JonoSmithTattoo
@JonoSmithTattoo 6 лет назад
It makes a barrier on the skin so works the same a Vaseline in that respect. So if you've got a layer of it surrounding the skin you're working on it can help to avoid staining.

Most artist use tubs of A and D while tattooing. If the artist uses Vaseline, RUN!

Vaseline is not for tattoo after care but it softened the skin so that skin would able to absorb the ink faster
@TrueBlueYou

Isn’t petroleum jelly a solvent, a derivative of gasoline? It would be interesting to see what affect Vaseline has on a new tattoo. I’m sure it dilutes the ink and removes it during the healing process. I would think of Shea butter or some other type of lube would work better

Awesome videos and great work from your studio. Any chance we can get a video on the application and full saturation of light pigments ? . take care

Hi thanks for your comments. I've done a video on how to achieve colour saturation if you haven't seen it already? I can definitely do a follow up video about light colours. I've made a note of that and should have a video on it soon. Thanks.

What if your tattoo is fully healed, can you still apply your tattoo a vesaline just to keep it moisturized?
@bryantexas4772
@bryantexas4772 6 лет назад
Renato Diocales use lotion each morning like you would brush your teeth. It's just keeping the area moisturized and bright.
@primate83
@primate83 6 лет назад
you can, but i wouldn't advise doing it. since it is petroleum based, it clogs out your pores and doesn't let your skin breathe

Using vaseline is v bad idea in healing process it will increase the healing process + ur skin will not get enough air to which will help on healing ur skin.so just use water while washing and let it heal itself

Plzz.. Help me my tattoo is fading I mean the colour is not staying that the darkness... First I used calendula cream after that I used vaseline.... Now that color is not staying ...any suggestions anyone there?
@JonoSmithTattoo
@JonoSmithTattoo 6 лет назад
If your tattoo is fading it’s most likely to do with how the tattoo has been tattooed. Tattoos do naturally lighten when they’re healed fully but if the ink has faded to nothing then it could be a few things. The most common cause is the that the tattooist hasn’t tattooed it properly in the first place. It could be cheap ink has been used and it also could be it hasn’t been looked after properly when healing. Thanks for watching.

Jono Smith thank you bro, but there is no prblm with Vaseline or calendula!? Isn't it?!
@JonoSmithTattoo
@JonoSmithTattoo 6 лет назад
Personally I don’t recommend Vaseline for aftercare. It’s fine for using during the tattoo process but the problem with using it for aftercare is that it blocks and clogs the pores of the skin so it can’t breathe. You’re best using a purpose made product for aftercare. I find TattooGoo is excellent in aiding tattoos to heal.

@JonoSmithTattoo
@JonoSmithTattoo 5 лет назад
It could be a number of reasons but the main reason could be that your tattooist hasn’t packed the ink properly.

Almen Thompson get you some synthetic skin to practice on or pig skin or oranges 🍊for daily practice for growth and development . Learn how to hold your needle properly and never insert the needle too deep in the skin. Tattoo patiently(slowly) and watch the tip of the needles as your tattooing slowly, so your linear holds. The speed voltage depends on the quality of your power supply box and what type of tool( tattoo or rotary gun). Work on being light handed and your tattoos will heal faster. If you go too deep; it will take 2 to 3 weeks to heal. If you tattoo lightly, it won’t make it through the healing process. And learn proper set up and skin care. Learn about skin allergies and blood born pathogens 🦠. And always remember cleanliness and safety is key. And the inks I suggest is black pearl/ black pearl grey wash /triple black dynamite 🧨/ blood line ink/ and Indian ink. Indian ink makes it heals faster. I’ve heard of Mexican tattoo artist who prefer Indian ink over most popular brands. And start doodling on synthetic skin until you find the sound of the needle penetration and stroke. Ps: most tattoo artist don’t share the proper info you’ll need to start; because you may become phenomenal after all the hard work; or they want you as a chore boy 👦 for a minute in the shops. I personally knew of a artist who stunted his apprentices as a mentor; to keep control of everyone in some way in the shop. And some may not even teach you properly in shops due to being fearful of you taking clients or running away client from your work. Hope this helps your journey on becoming a greater artist and person mentally/spiritually tangibly/ physically . Like Nike says “ Just Do It”

Standard petroleum jelly and Vaseline are actually different, its like the vas is extra processed, its much smoother and more lube like than any petroleum jelly ive used. The standard petroleum jelly ive used in studios in the big tubs is really tacky and I don't like it.

It's good for using whilst actually doing the tattoo but I don't recommend it for aftercare as it's a barrier cream and can block the pores of the skin and not let it breathe.
