Can we all just appreciate how Matt repeats what the audience says so everyone can hear it? I’ve seen people doing crowd work who don’t and it makes no sense. Especially when it’s one of his friends… who has shared a stage with him…
Also its super smart as repeating it gives him a few seconds to think of the best answer/comeback. He is, next to Andrew Schulz the best crowd work comedian,, no doubt!
You guys should search for TFIL - it’s Matt’s group of friends and they do a bunch of wild adventures. Seeing Matt terrified and “human” is fun. He and his friends are all really wholesome dudes.
Awwwww, Thundercats. I have a sweet/sad story about the Thundercats tv show. Wanna hear it? It's probably going to be long.... Consider yourself warned. If anyone knows the guy with the Thundercats tattoo - show him this....... SO, my son, Jamie, who was born in 1982, had issues with his hearing & ability to learn to talk, due to constant ear infections, since birth. At 2 years old he had surgery to have tubes in his ears (you've probably heard of them - if not, Google - PE Tubes). The surgery helped a LOT. Soon after surgery Jamie was hearing much better and started talking up a storm ( for a 2 yr old! LOL). By the time he was about 3 he had about 50 words he could say clearly & several phrases, sentences, etc. One of Jamie's favorite tv shows was THUNDERCATS! When he heard the music start for the show, he would come running from wherever in the house he was - holding his Thundercats sword & yelling - Thundacats Thundacats Thundacats!!! It was adorable! Jamie would stand or sit in front of the tv waiting to raise his sword whenever Thundercats Goooooo! was said...... He loved that show! Well, Jamie continued to improve & grow, and he rarely was sick with ear infections anymore. Life was wonderful. 'Thundacats' was the highlight of his day. Then, when he was 3 years & 3 months old - in early December of 1985 a weird thing happened. I realized after about 4-5 DAYS that my son was not talking like his usual self anymore. The things he did say now were shortened. Thundacats - became Thunda. He used to ask for a drink of water 'please I wanna drink of water'. Now he was just saying 'wanna water'. Then just 'water'. And several other regular things he said, in a sentence, were also becoming abbreviated. At the end of a week - Jamie wasn't talking at all. He had replaced all his talking/vocabulary with guttural noises, screaming, uncontrollable laughing, and just general bizarre behavior. It happened SO fast. Needless to say, I took him to the doctor, who referred us to a specialist, who had Jamie hospitalized for tests (they wanted to observe him closely over several days), then referred us on to more specialists. The date was now February 1986. To make a long story short (I left out a lot) Jamie was diagnosed with Severe Autism. What the heck is Autism?!!! Jamie was enrolled immediately in a private school for children with special needs. Fortunately this very 'specialized' school was in the same neighborhood we lived in! Back in the 80s - hardly anyone knew what Autism was, much less being lucky enough to have the most up to date treatment practically in our back yard. Jamie continued in very high quality, cutting edge, special programs for Autism all of his 'school career' until he was 21 yrs old. Even with all the latest therapy, lessons, assistance, teachers, 1-on-1 teaching - Jamie never improved. Jamie is 41 yrs old now - he never regained any speech and he is about the mental functioning age of a 1 - 6 year old. 😢 Not too long ago I put an episode of Thundercats on the computer - turned it up and hoped there would be a glimmer of recognition. There wasn't. I don't know what happened to his brain or why it happened, I don't know where my adorable 3 yr old went off to way back in December of 1985, I just know part of him left & hasn't come back. All that remains is a piece of my son - oh, I still love & protect him fiercely, that will never change! It's ok. It's not his fault. I look forward to the 'someday' long after I'm gone for the day my WHOLE SON will join me in Heaven. Jamie likely doesn't understand anything I say but I do tell him frequently that some day he's again going to be the person he was meant to be - and I will be there waiting for him. ❤❤❤❤ Love, Jamie's mom 👵🏻
I was at this show and I can see why all of his shows have sold out. Matt, Alex and Paul was absolutely hilarious. Thanks for an awesome show and congratulations on the Netflix special! ☺️
I have recently discovered Matt. I love stand up comedy in general, but what makes this guy so special to my eyes it's the way he can interact with the audience. His wit and fast responses are so pleasant to watch much more than a well rehearsed script. And even if he insults everybody and everything, you can't get angry with him because it's so obvious he does it in order to make us laugh. It's so natural to him to respond that way and can't keep it to himself, not due to the fact that he has just talent in comedy but because that's who he is. At least that's what he seems, as well as a genuinely kind person with a good heart . It's not his appearance that makes him unique in the comedy field and made him succeed, but his intelligence. It's so wholesome when a person gets finally rewarded for that. ❤❤
@@DefNotAdogdo you really think any of us care that he has a girl?! Lmao, I've been married 16 years and even he understands and appreciates the crush I have on Matt 😂
Man I literally put on a Matt Rife clip every night before bed to chill from the heavy workload, and I'm straight as a pole and we have a daughter. Thanks for the good-natured laughs.
That is the most unexpected sound byte in the history of mankind. I’ve shown this to like 20 ppl and I laugh just as hard now as the first watch. Priceless.
RIGHT NOW, the best of the best crowd work I've ever seen are by both BTS & Matt Rife. If you've ever seen Don Rickles, he was great at crowd work. The way RIFE & BTS interact with fans is masterful. BTS sells out 60k to 90k stadiums and it feels like, each of those thousands of people is getting fans services and no one can deny that RIFE is the quick thinking Ringmaster when it comes to working a room or an Arena. The King!
I literally found you yesterday an Sweet baby Jesus yous is fuckin hilarious, my face hurts from laughing so hard😅 you sir just earned yourself another fan girl 🤣 good lawd I absolutely needed this laugh❤ keep up the fanfuckintastic work man, your the breath of fresh air this world totally needs right now!!!
"Is it a QR code?" "It is" "Whattttt! No way" *scans code* *plays tearing up my heart by Nsync* 😂 love this 🎶❤️ "No you get back in there and learn that young woman's life." "You ever seen Thundercats" 😂 "It was gonna be Transformers" lol 😂
I can’t wait for his Netflix special. It makes me less sad that I couldn’t go on his tour. I think it would be his first time doing his shows in Australia?
There is so much to process here. That is a great idea for a tattoo, IMO and that guy is a gangster for that song choice. Just two of many thoughts I have on this matter.
Omfg!! I have to get a sound wave tattoo!! Jesus, that blew my mind! I jumped out of my seat hahah Off to pick which Motley Crue song - fuck this is gonna be tough……
Its amazing how he straight up tells the brutal truth and insecurities about the audience and the best part is the victim laughs along with his humor. The main goal being ‘laughing together and not laughing at others’ i dont know if that made sense but thats Matt.
