In this video, we're going to show you how to do a field strip and proper cleaning of the Taurus PT-111 Millennium G2 pistol. The PT-111 is an extremely popular handgun for concealed carry, and is one of the most affordable carry guns on the market today.
The PT-111 has a 12+1 magazine capacity, and maintains a very low profile making it great for concealed carry. It has a polymer frame and stainless steel slide and barrel.
This is a very ergonomic pistol that fits well in most peoples hands and it was designed around concealed carry so all the edges have been rounded off.
The PT-111 shows up in many Top 10 lists for concealed carry 9mm firearms, and for good reason. If you're looking for an affordable gun for everyday carry, then the Taurus PT-111 is a great option.

Thanks for the video. Nice tips. Maybe I can give you one? Watch your hand placement. You several times say "see this?" and your hands are out of the picture. Not riding you, just sayin. Wish camera angles were better to show exactly the areas not to put solvent. Other than not being able to see everything done to the parts of the gun it's the best video I've seen so far on cleaning a G2C. I just needed to see everything because I've never cleaned a gun before.

Thanks for your insight. Just bought one and it has a lot of nice aspects like price, ergonomics, capacity and size. The only negative thing I can say is that SOME parts like the trigger and manual safety feel "plasticky cheap", like they would break off under moderate stress. Probably make it my truck gun and continue carrying G43/G19 in rotation.

Great instructional video! The type of detail that people new to handguns would find very helpful. However, only a tiny bit of constructive criticism, your video shots could have been a bit better. Some of your actions were performed right at the edge of the field of view of the camera, and some were out of camera field of view. Over all, every step of your video is able to be followed easily. I found it a to be one of the better instructional videos out there. Thanks!

Make sure the recoil spring is in correctly...but MORE important, that you don't put downward pressure on the barrel breech (flat part) as you introduce the slide to the frame because it can result in the barrel not seating properly and jamming the slide. Mine was totally frozen as barrel was not seated correctly....and I didn't even force anything. Anyway, I had to pay $25 bucks to my gunny to get the slide back off and reintroduced. Love this gun....350 rounds with 5 different brands, zero issues. I want the ODG color.

roughly a good video, but the weapon was out of view in a couple of key parts. 1 being when you actually took the slide off the gun. not clear on the slide removal process because the part that was actually in the picture without the part that wasn't did not work with my gun. I understand that it was a mistake, and this is only FYI, not meant as complaining

How do i clean the excess grease from factory. Im new and got new taurus today. Hoping i can get a quick response

The easiest way to get all that factory grease out is to disassemble the firearm, wipe it down with a rag or paper towel, then apply a solvent such as Hoppe's Elite Gun Cleaner (that's what we use), and use an old toothbrush or gun cleaning brush to scrub all the parts that you see that grease on. You may have to do this a couple of times, depending on the level of "gunkiness." Once you get all of the grease off and everything is free of grease, then apply a light coat of oil to the gun like we show in this video. I got mine the same color and its killing me that the accumalation of hand oils creates a rust look on the steel slide, what's the most effective way to keep it rust free and good looking??

Our recommendation would be to clean it regularly (at least once per week) and then something that really helps with fingerprints, oils, etc. is a silicone cloth, like this one: amzn.to/2Tgwxmv That will really help protect your slide if your wipe it with the silicone cloth after touching it with bare hands.
