Let the mixture rest in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

History of Lahmacun: The Story of a Delicious Heritage
Lahmacun is considered a beloved delicacy of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. While it's challenging to determine its exact origins, the history of this delicious dish is rich and rooted in various cultures.
Origin and Name:
The origins of Lahmacun can be traced back to the Middle East and Anatolia. While known as "lahma bi ajin" in Arab countries, it's called "lahmacun" in Turkish. While their names have Arabic and Turkish origins, their tastes and recipes may vary across different geographies.
Popularity and Diversity:
Lahmacun has become popular in many countries, from the Middle East to Europe and even America. While there are different versions in different regions, the basic recipe remains the same. For example, in Syria and Lebanon, lahmacun is prepared with different spices, while in Turkey, a more intense filling may be used.
Cultural and Social Aspect:
Lahmacun is not just a dish but also considered a social experience and a traditional way of gathering. Making and eating lahmacun together with family and friends is a common tradition in many Middle Eastern and Mediterranean countries.
Tips and Tricks for Making a Better Lahmacun:
Balanced Filling: Pay attention to using the ingredients in the filling in balanced proportions. Adjust the amounts of onion, peppers, and meat to create a delicious filling.
Balance of Spices: Spices are essential in determining the taste of lahmacun. Be mindful when using salt, ground red pepper, black pepper, and chili flakes, and create a taste that suits your palate.
Consistency of the Dough: The consistency of the dough is crucial. Add water gradually while kneading the dough and make sure the dough has the consistency of an earlobe. Too hard or too soft dough can affect the taste of lahmacun.
Resting the Dough: Unrested dough can result in undesirable outcomes when cooked. Resting the dough helps relax the gluten and improves its texture. Pay attention to the resting time and let your dough rest sufficiently.
Rolling Thin: Rolling out the lahmacun dough thinly helps achieve a crispier result. Roll out the dough to the size of a small plate to create a thin layer.
Cooking Process: The cooking process of lahmacun is also essential. Preheat the pan and cook the lahmacun over low heat. Cook until the bottom is nicely browned, checking occasionally.
Serving: Serve lahmacun hot and garnish with lemon slices. You can also complement its taste with side garnishes like lettuce, parsley, tomatoes, and pickles.
