This song was released in 1983 - I was only 10 years old. I had 3 siblings, 6 aunts, 5 uncles and a hell lot of cousins! My maternal grandparents were still alive and so were my parents😊. Fast-forward 40 years - my siblings are gone and so are my 6 aunts and 5 uncles. Gone are my parents and grandparents 😢 This song is a stark reminder of how blissful life can be. I fondly hold my childhood memories in beautiful songs like this. I shed a tear here and there but, the presence of my wife and kids soothes me, just like this song does❤
My condolences for your lost of your relatives, and I know this song brings joy and pain at the same time. The memories remembered must take you back to good times every time you hear this song. Peace and love to you
I was only 17 years old when I had my son and I used to sing this song to him; I was so in love and mesmerised by this little life that I had created that I dedicated this song to him. Today he is all grown up and a very handsome man; very proud of myself for raising up this wonderful man all by myself.
I also had a son at 17...raised him by myself with parents support. Finished school. Worked after school at Woolworths and raised him.. he is 62 now and I would not have changed anything. No welfare then either. 🤗
@@leratomashiane4565 thank you. Very hard 3 years for 17 year old to raise child, go back for senior year of HS diploma, while working for 80 cents hr after school and Saturday....pay sitter and buy food clothing & medical expenses for my son. He is 62 now . No child support but $1 a week which never got paid to court. No welfare then. My wonderful parents helped . We lived there until I married. Been married 60 years now . My life could be a book . Ha
No words just tears of joy when I remember my late wife who died of cancer on the 29th Jan 2016, I played this heart ache soothing song the day before her burial. I thank her for giving me the best years of my life.
My friend, my heart goes out to you!!! Reading this shor statement about your late wife has brought tears to my eyes because I honestly believe you truly loved your wife and I'm laying next to mine listening to this song because it has so much powerful meaning and is so heartfelt emotion in it. I truly love my wife so much, I tell her every day and night and if I lose her to anything will destroy me. Because she is such a lovely woman, she is so kind hearted and caring and is so loving. We talk every day and we even stay on the phone until we just drift off to sleep until the phone hangs up on us. We are just that close. I am so, so sorry for your loss and after reading this I just broke down and cried for you. May God bless you and may He keep you in His arms is my prayer for you. God bless you my friend wherever you are
@@tonyjackson5939 be in it for the long run brother, have lots of patience, and understanding, work on it all the time, never take things for granted, always show appreciation and good luck.
@@wongamamduma4069 It was tough really tough on those days but I lost a queen but now I'm with the sweetest princess that I married in October 2019! The tune is our favourite song. Forever I will cherish the song!
Very rare video.....Tavares Brothers( Chubby, Butch, Ralph, Tiny Pooch and Victor) could sing any genre. Such talented boys. Mama Tavares had to be so proud....she always told them to "sing pretty for the people" This is about as pretty as you can find. Lovely video. 🕊🎶🕊
This song was released in 1983 - I was only 10 years old. I had 3 siblings, aunts, uncles and a hell lot of cousins! My maternal grandparents were still alive and so were my parents ,Grandparents all now gone, PARENTS STILL HERE , SIBLINGS ALL HERE, got me a son, some nieces, a nephew ...GOD is GOOD
I dont normally comment on YT BUT...this was my dad's fav song! I remember he had an LP and would mime this to my mom in our 4 roomed home in Soweto! and they stayed married till death did them part... so I guess he meant every word for 29yrs of marriage. Robala ka kagiso Kgabo! (1950-2008)
This song reminds me of my youth years, when things were very plain and simple.Remember hearing it for the first time and I was taken aback by this leading voice.
Well said, I too long for those years. Every one you cared for was still alive and well. Life then was just plain simple and happy. Uncomplicated, no worries. I wish I could live it all again and enjoy it to the fullest. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
In my opinion? Tavares was the absolute finest male R&B group from back in the day. They had 4 members who could sing lead!!! Best vocals...ever!!! This features Butch (tenor/falsetto) and Pooch (baritone). They often paired these two...and I see them as the soul version of the Righteous Brothers!!! Better than Motown or Philly Soul...TAVARES!!!!!
Great Music Never Dies actually it was the dramatics they sing five part harmony each member lead a song. Ron Banks voice is out of this world. "Check it out" listen to a song called "Me and Ms.Jones" by The Dramatics you be the Judge
When I first heard this song I had just re-enlisted in the Navy after being out for 2 years and 10 months, and got stationed in Washington State and just got married that year...My Doll, "You are the words, you art the music, you're the tune that plays over and over again in my head...I dedicate this song to ypu...
This will be my wedding song. I heard it for the 1st time in 2003 in my matric year, a beautiful rendition by The Rockets and today, 21 September 2024 I'm hearing the original for the 1st time, I was searching the words of the song hoping to find the version by The Rockets. I always said this will be my wedding song one day. I'm yet to meet my future husband, but I know this will be our song. ❤❤❤what an honour to finally listen to the full version 😢😢
I agree but i feel ALL their songs, esp the hits theyve been singing all these yrs are T H E B E S T...THEY DESERVE A REVIVAL. LOOOK AT ALL THE PPL HERE THAT LOVE THEM. AND ALL THE FANS IN THOSE HUGE AUDIENCES THEY PERFORM FOR.... SEEMS A REVIVAL WOULD DEFINITELY HAPPEN. IF WE CLD GET TO THE RIGHT PERSON. ID LIKE TO SEE A DOCUMENTARY DONE. PLENTY INFO & VID, OVER TIME, TO WORK WITH *SIGH* THOSE 2 EVENTS, DOCU 1ST...WOULD GENERATE INTEREST IN MUSIC WANT AGAIN. WOW BAM! WE'VE DONE IT!!!!!🤩👍 ☮❤🥰
What would life be without singers songs and music of such great quality? Two thumbs up to all the greats in the music fraternity, past, present, and future to come.
I totally forgot about this song...I even had this album...But, "You are the song, you are the the song, you are the music, you're the song that plays over and over in my head..." One of the greatest songs I've ever heard...
Pooch had such a beautiful voice. Butch had the high octave voice that blended beautifully with Pooch. I searched for this song with video. Chubby, Tiny and Ralph in background. Love this song by Tavares that was very unsung. Should have been a top hit. Love it 🎶🌟💫💫💫🌟🎶
@@phillipwattsjr.4714 yes,I see.September.Sad their melodic soul was swept away by the 80s.Even Trammps stuff from that decade is good, listen especially Love epidemic.Don't know if I gave that info right.I watch also a Butch recent interview.and there's a Chubby vid.
My darlin' You know that I depend upon your very smile And my day would not begin Without your precious kiss And if someone wrote my story And tried to leave you out, huh The most important part they'd surely miss (Do you understand) I'm nothing without you Girl, you're my heart, you're my soul You're my life, it's true You are the words You are the music You're the song that plays over and over Again in my head You are the words You are the music You're the tune that I dream of And sing every morning in bed No, I can't count the ways You've brought me happiness You've shown me what no other love has shown (And, oh) If I live forever If I live a million years This heart will still want you and you alone (Never, ever doubt) You are the only one Girl, you're my world, you're my dreams You're my morning sun You are the words (You are the words) You are the music (You are the music) You're the song that plays over and over Again in my head You are the words (You are the words) You are the music (You are the music) You're the tune that I dream of And sing every morning in bed (Yes, it's true) I'll dedicate each passing day to you Now and forever more Your love is what I'm living for (Don't you understand) I'm holding out I'm holding out my hand to you You are the words (You are the words) You are the music (You are the music) You're the song that plays over and over Again in my head You are the words (You are the words) You are the music (You are the music) You're the tune that I dream of And sing every morning in bed You are the words (You are the words) Girl, you're my music (Girl, you are my music) (You are the music) You're the song that plays over and over Again in my head You are the words (You are the words) Girl, you are my music (Girl, you are my music) (You are the music) You're the tune that I dream of And sing every morning in bed

That was spectacular! I always loved this song as a child but appreciate it now even more as musical genius as I listen more keenly. The crisp, controlled high notes, the warmth of the low notes and the melodious harmonies were a journey to a happy place.
I love this song it's my all time favorite. It speaks volumes. Lovely!!!! I was a small kid when I first heard this song and I been stuck on it since😄thanks Tavares👍
What a song......we inspire each other. Each one of us here to serve and love all brothers and sisters throughout the earth. I thank my heavenly father everyday for all the modern day psalms that touchef my heart and soothed my soul. 🌹🤍🌹
Music has died.Tnx to technology and networks like You Tube we can still listen to the evergreen music we had in the 70s and 80s when music had a meaning, touched the listeners, healed the broken hearts, made you want to fall in love, made you believed in love, the list is endless.
RIP my mum.... I remember when I was very young, and this song would play in the radio... and I would find you had cooked a delicious meal....RIP Matuse....
❤.This song. Has played for over and over in my head for years. Used to play Radio 3 Zimbabwe in the 80s. Grew up thinking the chorus voice was a female voice though.
Listening this to 2023. It is my All Time Favorite Soul Song that I dedicate to my Dearest Soul Friend, My Best Friend, She is the Words and the Music to my Soul !
I have never heard this one, before. Better late than never, I say. It is absolutely beautiful! I have to have it on my playlist. Isn't that Pooch singing lead? Gone now, to be with Ralph. These were true brothers, full of talent. I do so love them.
