Have you heard of the Edwards Inspiris Resilia valve? How good is it against the other valves mentioned in this video? I am leaning towards this valve over a mechanical prostheses. Looking to try and convince the surgeon about this or maybe the Sapien 3 valve. While I am under 60 and relatively healthy and can handle open heart surgery, I do not like the length of time it will take to heal and get back on my feet and work. Before I forget, right now I think of myself as low risk when it comes to aortic stenosis.

Have you done this Resilia tissue valve. I am 53 years old. I am still in doubt which valve to choose

Hello! I have had it implanted EXACTLY one year ago today. I am 33 years old and I went to Dr. Marc Moon at St. Luke's in Houston. This is my second time going open heart, my first was at 23. The recovery was brutal for the first two weeks but it is pretty manageable afterward. Night and day difference. Have either of you undergone surgery yet?

@@WiseWanderer0529 I had the Ross procedure done back in Sept. and then spent 5 weeks in the hospital. 4 weeks of which were in the ICU due to complications (pnuemonia).

@@garyjene9146 That is fascinating. Glad you are doing well. I heard the Ross procedure has very good outcomes but the trick is finding a surgeon experienced and trained in implanting them. If you don't mind, where did you get the procedure done? Did you feel like it was hard to find a surgeon willing to do it?

@@WiseWanderer0529 It was not hard to find a surgeon to do the operation. I was debating on going to a hospital in a larger city because they would probably have more experience. I had my procedure done at the University Hospital here in London, Ontario. The surgeon that performed the operation also teaches at the university.

0.4% major stroke rate is great. Unless you’re the guy who gets the major stroke.
