tax refund are just interest free loans you lend to the government which later give back to you. those bastards...., factor in 2% inflation a year, they are actually stealing money from you.

Why don't we go back the old ways.. fill our own tax and we keep our refund. I don't want anyone to fill my tax and took 10% or whatever amount they took out.
I literally did my taxes last Friday, and have received my federal and state (CA) returns today this Friday . I am pleased with the speed of the return processing
I get 5k back from federal and 6k back from the state of California. How do I fix this to break even or get a small refund? Right now I’m claiming 1 in the state portion and 1 for federal. The federal portion now is so confusing to change. What do you recommend??
@@erictech201 yeah I don't like it but now they changed the way you fill out your W-2 so there is no other way to fill it out cept for one way and you don't get to put down how many people that you claim it's very odd
@@emsdiy6857 you should ask your employer to don’t pay the taxes for you and then you pay at the end of the year with a check, this way you can use that tax money for you or put it in a savings account
This information was great, but I still have one question. If I can increase my deduction beyond the standard deduction (legally so I don't get audited) doesn't that make my refund a good thing? Because that way the withholdings are still the same but my taxable income is less so have to give me back more?
Doing this can possibly put you in with a smaller tax liability and a larger withholding for the following year. Stated in the video as a non-refundable tax situation meaning getting a big return may mean you need to make adjustments on your w-4 so that you withhold more money to the irs so that you don’t owe well over your tax liability
