Jim Iggy was so instrumental to that show. My word, I can not imagine anyone else in that part. The cast was perfect. They were instant magic- Thank you to every one of you. I'm 10 yrs old again God bless Andy and Jeff.
Just the intro music reminds me of when my parents would tell me it’s time for bed. I’d beg to stay up for an extra 30 minutes. Sometimes they’d say yes, other times no. It’s so funny how those feelings come right back after all those years ago!
Danny, your bit trying to decide on an amount you could ask for Jim's father to write on a check to you will stay in my memory forever. Brilliant. No one else could have made Louie such an interesting character. Kudos. And Thank you.
One of my favorite episodes is with the Latka alter ego character Vic Ferrari episode 20 of season 3. Another favorite episode was in season 1 and it was episode 7, 4:50 it was called “High School Reunion.” It was when Louie De Palma (Danny DeVito), tries to impress his former high school classmates by getting Bobby Wheeler (Jeff Conway) to be his proxy/substitute for himself at the reunion. Taxi is on of my all-time top 10 shows list-it’s a true classic. I think I’ve seen every episode.
You can see the closeness. This was a treasure. Thank you for posting. I gotta say something. Call it bad memory but I think it's a testament to how unbelievable his acting was, I literally asked myself where is Latka? I know Andy Kaufmann is dead but where is Latka? Lol. Yeah, and then it dawned on me lol. Rest in Peace Jeff and Andy you were there in spirit just like Whoopie said. Thanks Tony for making sure to mention them. 🤗🩷🚕💜🙏🏼🤗
Taxi, followed by Soap was the funniest hour in tv ever. Always slept well after watching those two shows back to back, was always tired from laughing so much
I love Taxi, it is so New York....from the opening credits. Of the cab driving over the 59th St Bridge to the scenes of the city streets, all the way to Bob James' funky Jazz soundtrack!! One of my all time favorite sitcoms...
My dad was the Key Grip for the entire run of the show, he even received an "Honorable Mention" from the 1983 Emmy's - Back when the TV Academy actually recognized the crew. I still have a few of the surviving scripts from my dad's once full collection. Dad was a Golden Gloves Boxer in his younger days and Tony Danza a former Pro Boxer, so during the week rehearsals between scenes he and Tony would spar when they had the time.
I really hope that Paramount+ gets the TAXI series in Germany too. I finally want to see her. I watched the series Who's the Boss as a child and again in 2023. Now I finally want to see Tony Danza in his other successful series. 💛💛💛
To them the cast of Taxie it was a job To me I still watch it on DVD, And when I was a Kid my whole Family would sit Together and watch the show And Laugh What a gifted cast!!! It’s so great the T.V. People and the movie Creators are hiring these Older Actresses and Actors that were and still are Great!!😢
Tony Danza, I love that quote: "When you teach a kid how to act, you teach a kid how to act." another reason NOT to cut the arts and music programs in schools. When ot comes to budget decisions for schools. sepcially school boards whoa re stacked with businessmen who have become professional bean counters driven by profit only, who were former jocks, you'll never see a weed growing in a football stadium...but you will see cobwebs growing in an empty auditorium or music room...
The only American comedy I really liked....most of the others were remakes of British ones. The theme music too was superb ....Tony looks superb....God bless them all ...😂😆👍⭐⭐
What I did not get was is they asked Tony about a WHo's the Boss Reboot.....WHAT ABOUT TAXI even if for just a REUNION SHOW like Happy Days use to. Jim Burrows is still around. How about a ONE TIME Taxi Reunion SCRIPT! Not where they get together and talk about the show have a script for the characters back in the TAXI shop somehow. They can bust on UBER and Lyft??????? In front of a LIVE audience as well!!!!!
