It's amazing that the government hands out truck loads of money to the people who don't pay their fair share of taxes and doesn't want to take care of infrastructure for the people who does pay their fair share
Your idea of "fair share" is a wealthy person paying YOUR bills. Higher taxes = more jobs sent overseas. Instead of making a business friendly environment .. you make it hostile.. and make exiting look attractive.
Bernie just never gives up! He's been fighting his whole life...and he continues to fight. Hats off and mad respect to the only real defender of America's working class in congress.
Personally I believe that if ANY company is funded by the American Taxpayers, then we should ALL receive dividend checks on the profits of that research & company BEFORE any CEO or Board Member gets a cent paid to them. And CEOs & Board Members should NOT be allowed to make a profit higher than the dividend checks sent to Americans.
@@bovinityleak2066 Mostly there never has been common sense. The american political is only more corrupt looking because there is more instant exposure to the lies and corruption they pound us with daily!
Pity people prefer to watch the Kardashians than this man who has our interests at heart. Americans are so brainwashed and distracted that they can’t discern on which we should pay attention to.
That's true to a certain extent, corpow. However, I know if we could present these matters to them, those same people COULD and WOULD be very interested and fired up. After all, isn't that exactly what Trump & the MAGA crowd are all about?
Spot on, as always. I fear that we will have occasion in the future to deeply regret not making Bernie Sanders our president at this pivotal time in our country. I'm extremely grateful for his message & those few in government who are carrying it forward. Long live Tio Bernie!
There is absolutely no reason to be so maudlin and self-hating. A bunch of thugs stole the primaries from Bernie. Stop blaming the American people. We did vote him in! the plutocrats simply pulled the plug on him. Why? Because they could. this is not a democracy
OH SO TRUE ANGELA! It is obscene we could not have Bernie for President because of our prejudice against "socialism" and/or "progressives." This is the agenda of the people. Bernie is fighting for the "forgotten American workers" that Trump claimed to love & care about. And yet all we got with 45 were tax cuts for billionaires while we forgotten workers are still drowning out here.

How can anyone believe that funding corporations with money they do not need, expecting regular people to sacrifice everything for billionaire goals, be a good idea? Instead of having ie., Medicare for All, lowering the Social Security retirement age to 50, removing Student Debt, Real Child Care, aid to us Seniors and all others who need an improved standard of living that a paltry slave-wage job does not help; aid to the Persons who have no place to call home, real money per hour (not less than 30.00 per hour), the past promise of a monthly stipend during Covid (still waiting), a place to live, food to eat that is not tainted by GMO's etc, and ...RESPECT for WORKING CLASS and ALL of US- not because of billions of dollars in profits, but because WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS who are worthy of care and respect: PERIOD. Just say NO to WELFARE for BILLIONAIRES!
it’s already there, it’s called tax dollars. They are stealing taxes from the poor to give to the rich, it’s like a reverse Robin Hood. We spend 10 times more in corporate welfare then every single social welfare programs combined. It’s sickening how they steal from us.
@Yellow Ranger Lol!. The funding is obviously there. Heavy fines for these monster corporations’ gross profiteering and tax evasion. Cap CEO’s obscene payoff. Abolish tax loopholes provided for the wealthy elites to avoid taxation, as well as any bailouts. The fact they exist is absolutely insane. Not to mention the Fed printing it magically from thin air, just as they always do.
Jeff Bezos needs to pay his share and to treat his employees well, and would stll be filthy rich, yet he thinks everyone owes him something. Just gross.
Going back even further, John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, written in 1939, describes America then, and it hasn’t changed since then. Best book and audiobook I’ve ever heard of to explain the problems facing the poor, how and why people react to migrants, how big business operates, the importance of unions, human nature, etc. That book really gives an easy to understand picture of all these systems operating together. Doesn’t matter what your politics are. The book appeals to everyone.
How about a public version of all essential industries which will force prices down among privateers in the field and prevents them from creating artificial scarcity..and any profits over a set amount go to the public or causes the public specifies. Let's enforce antitrust laws, require a large percentage of worker ownership of corporations, and emphasize worker and public ownership since we fund most of these indirectly and yet they remain unaccountable to us.
It seems obvious that these corporate handouts would somehow benefit the people who vote for them. If they own stock, even indirectly, some of that bailout money goes into their bank account. Politicians should be volunteers.
Any company that buys back it's own stock should never ever ever get tax payer assistance or bailout funds period. Let the shareholders bail those types of companies..
He's clever by dismantling his argument with a diatribe against wealthy people, because Americans don't see what's wrong with wealthy people. The important ideas: what taxes do, what space facilities are used by whom and at what cost, etc.or a history of subsidies for industries, there's nothing concrete here.
The Era of Corporate Welfare in the US should've ended at the same time as the Era of Easy Credit, after the 2008-2012 Market Crash. While it makes sense for the Federal Government to Fund the Development and Growth of Infrastructure and Industry, this should be done be Federal Purchase of Ownership Shares in these Corporations as Agent and Representative of the People, not Free Money or Favorably-Financed Loans for Corporate Entities, Officers, or Creditors if these Private Legal Entities can't Fund their own Payrolls, Office Rents, Utilities, and other Bills. US Ownership of Silicon Fabrication and Foundry Patents should be used to benefit US Companies like Texas Instruments and smaller, Fabless and Domestic ARM IP Licensees as well as AMD, Apple, and Intel. With Verizon using non-Interoperable Standards, that entire Network needs Specialized Hardware anyway and relative to other Consumer Electronics, Smartphones have high Margins and low Barriers to Manufacturing or Market Entry.
Thank you, Senator Sanders. Every multi million, and billion dollar company must pay taxes. Bail out the people who make this country work. Greed drives billionaires. Millionaires and billionaires Couldn't handle a job at Arby's, Wendy's, McDonalds, Walmart, Target, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Chick-fil-A, Subway, Dairy Queen. They couldn't survive 1 week at any of these places. Hey! They are. all hiring. 8am to 4:30pm. ½ hour lunch (not paid) 2, 15 min breaks. C'mon big wigs! I dare you to work at any of these for 2 weeks! Oh, I forgot, minimum wage $7.25 hr. If you work hard, you might even get a raise to $7.50 hr! Put up your dukes!
I don't believe any of the corporations that moved jobs overseas should see a penny more from the American taxpayers. Why not fund companies that hasn't already screwed our country and countrymen with an agreement for them to keep jobs here in America 🤔? Stop funding those who have already demonstrated they'll screw their country and countrymen over at the behest of greed? At what point will we cease enabling insatiable greed that's harming our nation and countrymen?
I funded my space project from Kitchen work ,a pack bike ,,a used van ,,,there was no extra grant ,,well America work their project on US soil,,and study your own US archaeology
Dear Bernie Sanders, I may not have the time to view or comment on all of your videos released, but please consider every one of them to have a (+1) from me - every one. Thank you for proving that at least there are a few actual statements and leaders that care about the people and the Constitution in this country.
Ok I half agree with Bernie. If these companies are going to take our tax money then they agree to be nationalized. If Bernie said that the he would probably be CIAed tho 👀
What are we supposed to do about any of this? I’m outraged, but haven’t a clue what I can do - don’t say vote, that’s bullshit. There’s no civilized way to right this ship is there?

Bernie was the most popular politician for years and now we only get to see him on his own channel or possibly C-Span. The Progressive movement needs an out front leader all over the media. I suppose that was part of the poor trade off in stepping aside for Biden. The Corporate Dems must have gotten the Progressives to step aside for the sake of the party. We will see how that goes in the mid-terms and beyond. I used to be hopeful and motivated when Bernie was leading and in the headlines. Our Revolution is floating Ro Khanna, guess what, he unfortunately does not have the charisma or cult of personality to win the presidency in this day and age. We need a true progressive movement. True and clean and loud. I love Bernie and miss Bernie out front in a big way. Where is our Organizer in Chief? Where are our rallies? Still I love what Bernie does and achieves and helps with and without him we got nuthin.
"Socializes all of the risk, privatizes all of the profits" is the dominant model of capitalism. Call it what you want. Neoliberalism, crony capitalism, monopoly capitalism, corporate capitalism, etc etc etc. It's all the same in that the profit goes to a few while the cost is laid on shoulders of the many. That's why social democracy was developed. Social democracy is another variation of capitalism that does only privatizes "less" of the profits while socializing some of it. It's still largely a top-down system heavily influenced by capitalists, but better than anything the United States of America has ever had in its entire history. Better, but nowhere near the best we can do. Brainwashed people will spout the same tired talking points of "Sweden tried socialism and rejected it," "we're bigger and more diverse," "the government ruins everything it touches," and all kinds of other garbage. Those are talking points designed to keep people from even thinking about alternatives. Nothing more, nothing less. First off, Sweden didn't reject socialism, nor did it try socialism. Research for yourself what they ACTUALLY did, and WHY THEY DID IT. Not from right wing media and other spin factories, but by following the timelines and looking at what caused the people to vote the way they did. Nearly all (supply and demand really exists, so "nearly") capitalist arguments fall apart when you actually examine them critically, without making assumptions about anything. Second, look at why "the government ruins everything it touches" before nodding in agreement as you fart your braincells away. 9 times out of 10 you'll find that pro-social policies are sabotaged intentionally, whether by how they're written or, as is quite regularly the case, by legislators defunding and regulating them until they fail hard. When that happens, the opponents of those policies always point to the failures as "proof" that they were right. At the same time, ask yourself why you would trust a top-down government in the first place if you care at all about them representing the interests of the nation. Those same people pointing to the "proof" of failures in government are also the same ones saying things like "democracy is evil," and "workplaces need to be top-down dictatorships or nothing will get done," and other anti-democratic, pro-authoritarian nonsense. Perhaps you should consider that the people doing all of that have obvious conflicts of interest, and rather than representing all of the people, they instead represent the elite few. Read "War is a Racket," by Smedley Butler (you can also listen to it on youtube) and then argue that they care about the best interests of the country instead of the best interests of the elite. Capitalism is feudalism as an economic system, rather than a purely political one. And no, it isn't purely economic, because honor, integrity, and politicians are all commodities to be bought and sold, and capitalists DO NOT keep their hands of that market, as it is economically AND politically prudent of them to control it to the greatest degree. Doesn't matter if it's a social democracy like Sweden or an autocracy like Chile under the US-supported dictatorship under Pinochet and Saddam Hussein. Capitalism was born from feudalism, and never felt it necessary or even profitable to leave the worst characteristics of feudalism behind. All of the comforts and improvements of "advanced" societies don't come from capitalism. They come DESPITE capitalism. Capitalists fought against them all, from the 5-day 40-hour work week, to the minimum wage, to food/water health and safety regulations, to getting rid of child labor, to the existence of unions, and on and on. They literally fought, using hired thugs LIKE THE US MILITARY AND VARIOUS STATE/LOCAL POLICE to literally kill people who stood against them, and to demoralize anyone who tried to fight. They also spent incalculable resources pushing propaganda that supported their hegemony as a symbol of "freedom and democracy," brainwashing countless people to believe that capitalism is the best we can do, and is actually great. Social movements AGAINST capitalism and other norms/systems forced through all of those great things.
50 Billion? Hey! I got hobbies too. I'll take one of those! Then I think I'll retire my hobby and just buy another mansion. Oops! I thought I was Jeff for a second. Who am I kidding? I don't even have a mansion........... But with 50 billion I could buy another one and another and another because I'll have plenty left over after I buy that first one. Who needs 25 bathrooms? Well all my guests. 25 families I'll put up, maybe more. Too many working people living in the streets and in cars and strange sofas. Lots of bathrooms --- maybe more than 25, so I can invite some of my homeless friends to stay with me.
We will have to eat the billionaires and make laws that bring back the death penalty for political corruption only. Rich people don't have laws they have guide lines that they don't even follow. We will have to end the billionaire class one way or another.

Not just that but they cannot make laws for these donors either. We need to push to make corporate lobbying a crime. Our reps are just politicians for hire smh. It's shameful.
Citizen's united is a supreme court decision. How can we overturn it? Also, corporate welfare isnt capitalism. It is socialism, socialism which only benefits the 1%. Like Bernie said, it's socialism for the 1% and rugged individualism for everyone else. Corporate welfare isnt capitalism. Capitalism is allowing competition to dictate the market, not corporate handouts.
Rand Paul this past weekend was picking on people who are on disability. Really? Punching down on people with little money and no power as the enemy? How about taxing those who pay zero or little taxes?
“One America is flowing with the milk of prosperity and the honey of equality,” King said. “That America is the habitat of millions of people who have food and material necessities for their bodies, culture and education for their minds, freedom and human dignity for their spirits. . . . But as we assemble here tonight, I’m sure that each of us is painfully aware of the fact that there is another America, and that other America has a daily ugliness about it that transforms the buoyancy of hope into the fatigue of despair.” Those who lived in the other America, King said, were plagued by “inadequate, substandard and often dilapidated housing conditions,” by “substandard, inferior, quality-less schools,” by having to choose between unemployment and low-wage jobs that didn’t even pay enough to put food on the table. The problem was structural, King said: “This country has socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for the poor.”
Repugs run the short con which is why they skim off the most ignorant voters, while most Dims are running the long con which is more profitable long-term and stays slightly less heinous in the short term, which is why anyone who is in the Repugs' crosshairs and anyone who gets what's going on has to keep supporting the Democrats even though they're mostly awful too.
RIGHT ON, Margaret! They say we can't have Build Back Better bill which would substantially help to make all Americans lives better. Over the next 10 years.
