I think one of my friends might've gone to the same one as you or maybe not because I'm pretty sure hers was somewhere in CA (she was going to see the Magcon Boys and go to Disney World or Land around her b-day time) but if it was in CA, I'm pretty sure it wasn't 40 degree weather because in Santa Monica where I live now, I've learned that it doesn't get below 50 degrees even in the winter or until January. But, anyway, I remember she told me that she was standing there for about three or four hours before he even appeared and when he did come, he was just taking pictures and then onto the next person like that and everyone thought that maybe he would talk to them after the pictures. Nope. He just up and left. I remember her being so sad and crying because she spent a lot of her eighth grade allowance to get there (though her dad gave her back the $40 she spent later because he saw how upset she was) and it was her birthday weekend and she couldn't even get to talk to him or hear him and he wasn't the way she imagined it and she stopped being interested in all of the Magcon boys after that because she felt like all of them were gonna be like that.
