I am so disappointed with Taylor Guitars re this issue. I have wanted a Taylor guitar for some years already owning a 6 and 12 string semi-acoustic Takamines and was bought a GS mini for xmas with the pickup which buzzes like hell. I have both a Roland Ac60 amp which is mains powered and a Roland Street Cube amp which is both mains and battery powered and both my Takamines are quiet when plugged into the mains or on battery power yet when i plug in my Taylor GS mini it buzzes on both mains and battery. I have raised this issue with Taylor on several occasions however they still say its not their problem and i must purchase the ground kit which i think Taylor should supply free of charge to rectify the problem. Taylor Guitars blame my electric supply however as i keep telling them my Takamimes have no buzz/hum and the Taylor does, Very dissapointed response from such a high end Company, will not be spending my money on a high end Taylor and keep to my trusty Takamine !
mounted without major problems, the only thing you hear anyway is a background noise connected to the acoustic amplifier, do you also have this problem?
So I'm presuming when the strings are wedged in place with the bridge pins, that pushes the string against the earth plate? I think you may have just given me the solution to a problem I'm having fitting an under saddle piezo to a guitar with an adjustable saddle. The inards of the saddle are made of metal and it's humming like hell when I plug it in. This goes away when I hold the jack socket, so I'm presuming it's an earthing issue?Cheers Gary
Why is it that only my Taylor guitar has a hum problem? My Gibson and Martin guitars don't hum in the same evironment. I couldn't get the string ground kit in the UK so I made one to the same dimensions. It works when I am touching a string but when I put the guitar down, it still hums. This only happens with my Taylor guitar!
Joe I had the same problem with my Fishman equipped Fairclough guitar. The problem was a dry solder joint on the ground connection at the end pin jack. Had to take all the wiring out so that I could measure the resistance in the wires to be sure where the problem was. They hadn't used the cable clamp on the end pin jack so the wire was free to move and weaken the solder joint over time. I just re-flowed the solder and it solved my problem.
Hello friend ...please I need you help in my nylon string clasical spanish guitar ...I have a presys AF03 imitation new .....the problem I have with the AF03 is the hum noise ...I understand is a ground problem ...when touch the jack 1/4 connector the annoying sound goes away...my guitar is spanish clasical Nylon string ....you can say me how repair my problem please or where I connect the gorund in this type of guitar
Just terrible. So glad I had a fishman installed after I bought the GS Mini. Considering the guitar is not exactly cheap for not being a full wooden body... it find it sad what Tailor offers as a pickup solution.
