Taylor did an amazing cover of Led Zeppelin's Rock and Roll with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones playing with him . One of my favourites . Rest Peacefully Taylor 💔
My absolute fave also! Half of Led Zep.. To me Zep was the best band ever. Finally got old enough to see them live when John (Bonzo) Bonham passed. RIP Taylor 💔🥁
Taylor and Dave changed what it means to be a "Rock Star." Before Rock Stars were these larger-than-life characters. Like Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Living the Rock Star life. Rock Stars also primarily only played with their band. Dave and Taylor play together and also had independent projects. Who says you have to be in only one band for the rest of your life. Maybe the Beatles would have stayed together if they did the same thing and were able to express the different creative sides of themselves. They also brought fun to rock. In one interview Taylor said, "Don't call me a Rock Star, I'm a musician." And that's how he and Dave live, they love music. Taylor will be greatly missed but together he and Dave left a great legacy behind.
I just can’t get over this. He always reminded me of my son and now he past away the same way. Taylor please say hi to Jimmy. I am sure he’s looking for you in Heaven.
see joseph selbie the physics of god: consciousness, heaven, neuroscience, and transcendence audio bk here on yt, scientific proof thru quantum physics for laymen...hope it helps!🙏...My best friend killed himself at 18 n '90, then 4 yrs later I realized I had another chance with the drummer of the band I was in while on tour, & I cherished every single moment we shared making our dreams come true. I knew I was blessed!!! Then he was killed in a car crash. Moral of the story for anyone reading this, as bad as things may seem, &/or are, NEVER FORGET, THESE ARE THE DAYS!!! ✌😇❤
@@kimbarnett4113 It proves SCIENTIFICALLY heaven, near death experiences, & the fact that we will indeed be reunited with our loved ones one day!!!🤗❤ Best Wishes!✌
palacinkasmarmeladou it seems he has to keep Taylor on track. Dude seems to be on something. Look at his body language. Can’t keep eye contact and keeps touching himself. Sheesh
Hearing him talk about his kids makes me think of mine and their transformation into their musical world. When they were with me at a very young age, was a heavy dose of AC/DC, Thin Lizzy and Judas Priest that they were exposed to. As they got older, they found their own music and nothing makes me prouder and happier than when they turn me onto music they love and I end up loving it as well. Taylor was a good man, a solid parent, great musician who made some mistakes that many of us have made and he is in a different place now. He will live on thru his music.
Dang, i can’t even begin to imagine what Taylor’s family and Dave Grohl and their band mates are going through. Gone but never ever forgotten! Rest in heaven’s glory Taylor Hawkins 🙏❤️
.......After he talked about his son, I felt real bad. Taylor seemed like a nice guy good dad. I couldn't name a Foo song to save my life. I'm 67. so I go back a bit w/R&R. But i Shall explore a little. My sympathy to the family.
He's more like Dave than Dave is now. I remember Dave from before he could buy houses with a credit card. Daves a lot less lose and more measured in what he says these days.
My cover band played Everlong in practice this past weekend! So the cycle continues … Taylor started out covering songs, and now we’re covering the Foos :D
SUCKS that he's gone!!! Feels like we don't get enough time to cope with a loss when we get hit with another. It's too much to process. I hope he's at peace...but man, I wasn't ready to say goodbye. I had tickets to see the Foos in NYC this July, damn it!
@@csnide6702 Feeling better spitting this out? There stil isn't an official declaration of the cause of death. And even if (I say if) he overdosed, he didn't do that on purpose. You don't take crap for fun. We don't know what he was going through for feeling bad. Depression and anxiety are hell! He never showed anything, always was bright shining. So amongst all his qualities, he was a good actor too. I heard Brian May say this morning how terrible sad he was about loosing his good friend. Roger Taylor called him the sun in human form. Go tell them that they aren't smart loving Taylor, go tell that to Dave Grohl. I will continue loving Taylor if you don't mind!
As a fellow New Jerseyan, it was touching to hear Taylor highlight it near the end of the interview. Always been (and will be, thanks to recordings like these!) an inspiring guy that promoted the good in life.
"half the music i like comes fr9m sitting in the back of my mums car on the way to soccer practice" Ain't that the truth. So much dire straits, zeppelin, Sabbath, purple and so much more comes from my parents car.
Totally with you on the Zeppelin, dire Straights, Springsteen, GNR Appetite for destruction, the Police, The Cars, Phil Collins and Whitesnake. Whitesnake? In that list? My mother had a strange affinity with them so when I hear it I know it word for word. Pink Floyd I heard a lot at our house as it was more of a vinyl album experience!
Lol...this is facts my son's are proof there married with children now but when I get in charge of the music at any family function( And i make that happen) no one knows the songs word for word but my son's and a few of their friends they actually know every word there wives have no clue? And the shock value for me proved i did something right as a mom.....Im currently working on my grandchildren and it's working....i certainly hope it sticks!!! R.I.P. TAYLOR HAWKINS THANK YOU
I watch every interview now and he is such a ball of nervous energy, it feels like he constantly feels out of place in these settings, he does the interviews but seems uncomfortable. I always wonder if he felt imposter syndrome.
I am glad he said his son can listen to whatever he likes, and that kids have to find the music of rebellion for themselves. His comments speak to a brand of wisdom that he no doubt learned because he is a creative. The fact that he’s ok with his son loving rap at that point is to be lauded. Not brushed over or ignored. I too was devastated at losing him. As a 59 year old black woman Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, NHC, TCV, QOTSA are MY rebellion music, right now. I will never stop having a sad place in my heart for having missed this beautiful 🤩 blinding ray of Sunshine LIVE. ❤ ☮️ & Hair grease y’all
I’m watching a lot of these interviews & noticing some things. Taylor doesn’t look healthy here. He’s not quite himself. Just knowing that he was being prescribed benzodiazepenes is alerting me to his anxious body language, and difficulty speaking. It’s not immediately noticeable, but he’s having some difficulty here. I can also see it in his face. If I were his doctor I’d get him off the benzos, I’d prescribe a hiatus from live tours & to be home with his family for a year with no alcohol, and I’d put him on a good sports recovery nutrition regimen. This was an avoidable tragedy, but this is how it happens. :(
This is like the same feeling in my heart when Randy Rhodes passed away. Can't help but feel sadness and sorrow when all your favorite musicians you grew up to pass away. From getting stoned listening to Jimi and Janis, to getting stoned listening to Freddie and Tom Petty, and now Taylor. Weed helps me deal with it so time to roll up a blunt and deal. R I P Taylor.......this tokes for you!!!!!
wow he used be chewing gum all the time to cover up the fact he was high on somekind of upper , at this point he is given up the gum for the spider eggs . maybe dont give the interviewer a bump either ...
Because Queen is super hard to cover. The vocal range and all the great piano. Not alot of cover bands even have piano in there band. It's just how you never hear people covering The Police. No one wants to sing that high. Sting can't even do it live.
@@chrishepburn1503 a lot of it Freddie could hardly do live. At least in the sense of doing it live to the recording. Instead Freddie would often sing notes lower, let notes die earlier than on the record, and he would make it expressive, like it was too much passion to sustain. That's the great thing about how Taylor Hawkins did Queen covers - he knew he wasn't going to get them right, but that wasn't going to stop him from loving it.
@@thescowlingschnauzer I'm just talking about bar bands covering Queen. Sure Taylor Hawkins can cover them but I'm saying the majority can't. And yes Freddie didn't sing like the record but his live is wayyyyyyy better than any bar band trying to cover Queen.
@@chrishepburn1503 Taylor Hawkins covers of Queen are terrible *in terms of technique*. The passion he brings makes them worth listening to. More bar bands should strive for that.
My younger brother passed away recently @49. Didn't want to go without removing his tattoos, but ran out of time. I'm getting mine under my non-negotiable clothes.I know the Bible says not to "memorialise" others, but I'm Polynesian & Bi Polar. My ink will be for my loved ones,& about us
Oh no. By this logic I feel like with my open mindedness I've forced my son into liking music with violence because that's about the only thing I'm not chill with.
