Great package. A lot of these plays genuinely impacted the game too. There's so much more to QB play, than a big arm.

This was during a year when all of his receivers were injured too and he was throwing to third string tight ends by the end of it. We got what the fans complained about, a QB with arm strength. Arm strength means little to nothing, literally. It's astonishing that idiots are still complaining about Heinicke's arm strength when we just endured some of the worst QB play in NFL history and some of the most unwatchable gameplay in general. This team lights up and plays better for Heinicke and anyone who tries to claim he isn't the QB of the future, they are the problem. These are the same idiots who think we're just going to draft the next Patrick Mahommes if we keep tanking and taking the most hyped guy over and over. These are the same idiots who will be asking for us to throw our 5th round rookie QB to the wolves and declaring afterwards that he is "not the QB of the future" when he was only ever a backup QB talent to begin with. This type of fan shares equally in the blame for ruining this franchise with Dan Snyder, period. News flash: Daniel Jones is leading a 5-1 team and Jaylon Hurtz is leading a 6-0 team, and both are demonstrably WORSE than Heinicke is and it's not even close. I would love for someone to argue that either of those QBs is anything special in the slightest. They are two mediocre starters in the NFL whose respective teams have stuck with and provided consistency for, the same consistency that should be afford to Heinicke.

I know right, you can fix dumb but you can't fix stupid. Only thing they can do now is eat crow and shut up and watch Heinicke cook the Green Bay Packers. Heinicke is totally over (popular as hell) in the NFL. Only stubborn fans don't see it, that or they're still salty for last season/lost money on the Cowboys game or something. I swear someone paid a bunch of goons to just spew hate in the media about him over and over, but that smear campaign didn't work in the slightest. All it does is hype him up even more now. If anything, bringing in Went made Heinicke's stock go up tremendously. People still want to see Heinicke play and those who don't have no concept of where the team is at. I get being upset at him for last season but being unable to see the big picture derails any of their arguments. One could still say he needs more help at OL, etc this season just like any qb. But at least we'll get to see a fair comparison with the same line as Wentz had to have a real litmus test against a better team.

Only a handful of quarterbacks in this league are considered "elite" any given season. Since there are 32 teams but not 32 all pro QB's it's up to the coaching staffs & personnel departments to design a system to their QB's strengths, surround them with strong talent, meaning success is built up front on the O line, a strong running game, & receivers that can actually run routes & catch the ball. I would take Heinicke over so many of the primadonna's that crash & burn every season. He has heart & leadership qualities, things that are far more important than a strong arm. Wentz has a strong arm & is 2-4, 2-4 by virtue of dropped passes by the losing teams. When you watch Carson on the field you see someone that has no courage, no heart, & no leadership. Washington wasted draft picks & valuable salary cap space trading for him. It weakened the roster & threatened the future. Over the past 2 seasons Washington lost Trent Williams & Brandon Scherff on the O line, poor management. Is Taylor the answer, most likely no? Combined Taylor & Sam represent less than 25% of Carson's salary, Wentz is overpriced wishful thinking. Build the team around either of those young guys, but build the team.

Dude, you're right on point, when we won 3 superbowls in a 10 year span with 3 different quarterbacks, 1982 Theismann, 1987 D Williams and 1991 Mark Ripken, non of them was elite, but exactly like you said the team was built the right way, we can go a long way with Heinicke and Sam, the problem is Ron, he doesn't understand that. 🙌🙌🙌 HTTR

Taylornis about to cook. This man has know what it's like to have a game rely on his arm especially in college throwing for over 70p yrds jn a game. He can sling the ball and people can only hate him because they want him to sling the ball deep all the time. Taylor makes plays, point blank and that's what this offense needs. Acott also has to play to his strengths amd let him be free like he did I'm the saints game last year

Watching these highlights really make me realize how bad of a coach Ron Rivera is. Had Taylor Heinicke in house and never once fully committed to him with confidence. Wasted time, energy, draft capital, cap space, acquiring Ryan Tannehill and then Carson Wentz, when they should've been focusing on getting the defense right.

If only he had 1/2 of Brett Favre’s arm, Washington would have a top 10 QB. Also, when I watch Taylor’s highlights, I just realize how great McLaurin is w/ all these acrobatic catches of passes late, behind him & high from Heinicke. Same w/ Heinicke’s passes to Thomas, all high & if it wasn’t for Thomas’s huge catch radius Heinicke would’ve never completed a pass to him.
@GbawlZ
@GbawlZ Год назад
I much prefer the passes be too high than for them to not happen at all, which is what it's like with Wentz, who has 100% of the arm Favre did. Also, the offense looks totally anemic with Wentz, I wonder what it's going to look like when they start Heinicke this week, hmmmmmm. Your eyes don't lie, the players respect Heinicke and ball out for him, and the offense looks much better with him, who gives a shit about his arm strength to be fucking honest? Arm strength means nothing if you can't move the chains consistently. The team we have been watching through week 6 has produced the most unwatchable games in history despite our immense talent at WR, possibly more talented than the year we had garcon/Jackson/etc.
@avbanig29
@avbanig29 Год назад
@@GbawlZ I agree with a lot of this. I like Heinicke, love his moxy & leadership. I feel the offense moves the ball better with Heinicke in there for the next few weeks. Wentz has all the natural talent but there’s just something missing. I don’t know if it’s bc of all the hits he took as a young QB or bc he’s still is trying to play as he did from 2016-2019 but, he doesn’t get rid of the ball fast enough. His biggest issue is he holds onto the ball too long instead of hitting check downs quickly when things aren’t open intermediate to deep.
@GbawlZ
@GbawlZ Год назад
@@avbanig29 The way I reasoned with it previously is that Heinicke isn't perfect, but something just works when he's in. You have QBs like Daniel Jones and Jaylon Hurts, who no one would consider top 15 QBs, leading their teams to 5-1 and 6-0 starts, respectively. Think about the Giants, who have seen Daniel Jones and Saquan Barkley struggle mightily for years, but they stuck with them. They might go back to being mediocre next season, but the Giants will still stick with them. Think about when the 2017 Eagles won the Super Bowl. They had the top O-line and the best D line with Desean Jackson and crew catching passes. Even when Carson Wentz went down, they plugged in a career backup QB, Nick Foles, and the team still CRUSHED the heavily-favored Patriots in the Super Bowl. I think Heinicke is more than sufficient to have success over the long-term. Also, to me, Wentz holds the ball way too long and can't evade or pick up on pressure in situations where Heinicke shows he can in this video. I'm excited to see us play this Sunday.
@avbanig29
@avbanig29 Год назад
@@GbawlZ the Giants got good on O again bc their HC is an offensive mastermind & Barkley is healthy again after tearing 2 knee ligaments in 2020 & battling other injuries last year. The Eagles didn’t have DJax in 2017 for their super bowl. Their WRs weren’t that great, Agholor & Alshon Jeffery. Ertz was their top weapon. They had a great team, and Foles didn’t make mistakes plus Doug Pedrrson & Frank Reich did an amazing job with both Wentz & Foles. Heinicke is fine, but he’s still limited by below average arm strength like Colt McCoy. They’re great back ups. Heinicke does a lot do things well & is a great leader/has moxy, but people shouldn’t forget the games when he wasn’t good in Oct of 2020 & both games against Dallas last year. Maybe it’s bc he was coming off Covid in the 2nd Dallas game, but still, both times when Kyle Allen was put him he moves the offense better than Heinicke was. Heinicke has to play well to keep the job. He has a golden opportunity over the next few games to prove he should be our starter. I hope he plays well. I definitely agree that Wentz doesn’t go through progressions fast enough/doesn’t get to his check downs fast enough. He used to get away with that bc of his athleticism as a young qb but he doesn’t have that like he did 4-7 years ago. He hasn’t adjusted his play enough yet to hit those underneath routes instead of waiting for deep stuff. I also think he panics in the pocket when he’s rushed.
@GbawlZ
@GbawlZ Год назад
@@avbanig29 I think comparing Heinicke to Colt McCoy is a joke, to be frank. I never saw Colt do half of what Heinicke does when he's on the field. I also tend to think he makes a hell of a lot more plays than Wentz does under the same amount of pressure. I don't get why people aren't willing to give him time to develop like Daniel jones and Jaylon Hurts, who are both clearly not top 15 QBs. If Heinicke hasn't adjusted to make certain throws, why would our knee jerk reaction be to bench him for a Wentz, a Fitzpatrick, or even a shot-in-the-dark rookie draftee, no matter the draft position? Heinicke is a hit and people just seem to ignore that.
