“Style”and “Out of The Woods” ( The Grammy Museum performance of this is FANTASTIC and she explained the meaning of the song ) are definitely about Harry .
Pretty much all 1989 is about Harry 😂. The only ones that are not are Welcome to NY, Bad Blood, You’re in Love, New romantics, and Shake it off. The rest of the album its all Harry, and the cool thing is that every song references another one in that album. 💕
This song was released before they broke up, they had basically just started dating, so it's definitely not about Harry! Most of Red is about Jake Gyllenhaal
right like when this came out they had just started dating, let's not even talk about how much time goes into writing and producing and putting out music
@@hanix8978 She wasn't dating Harry then....she wrote it before that relationship happened. Style, Out Of The Woods, Wonderland and I Know Places are about Harry. Taylor was never angry with Harry.
She wants to keep them as similar to the originals as possible, but yeah, you can notice her versions are way better and mature and they have details where you know it's her version. "Girl at Home" had noticeable changes in production and we're loving it!
When she first released Girl at Home I liked the message but the sound just wasn’t my cup of tea. But when she did Taylor’s Version, it was changed so drastically and now it’s one of my favorites. The beat drops and drums really did it for me. The original just seemed a little flat in terms of percussion instruments.
@@dominiquealexis6611 the old version of Girl At Home was more like a demo taylor had to include on the album, because her old label wanted her to make country music.
@@JenniferJiang2013 yeah, I know 😂 The original commenter edited their comment, but at first it said the rock version of wangbt was at the rep tour or something
These Taylor's versions aren't extremely different to the originals. But when you listen to both versions in a row I think it definitely sounds a bit different in general. Some are more diiferent than others, but she tried to keep it similar. Ofc her vocals changed a bit through the years, and she changed little things here and there. For some reason the songs always sound better when it's written (taylor's version) in the title, that's just powerful lol.
This song is not about Harry, I don't know who it's about, most people believe it's about John Mayer (or Jake Gyllenhaal). The songs that are rumored to be about Harry are Style and Out of the Woods (you should react to her performance of out of the woods at the grammys btw!! Idk if you remember but when you did taylor's vocal evolution you loved the clip of her at the piano singing this song and that performance. It's so good!)
@@gracie7475 personally mostly jake and john! But I mean in the end it's still just speculation and we'll probably never know. But really it doesn't matter who it's about, this song is a bop, never gets old 🤩
@@Violet316 the timeline makes 0 sense if it's about Harry tho... to me this song is post-relationship so it doesn't add up with the time her and Harry dated. I'm confused lmao, and I saw it on google too but I'm gonna need to see her actually say it bc to me right now it makes no sense haha. Well anyway it's not important I'm gonna keep streaming the shit out of this.
Taylor has never said who these songs were about. It's just speculation. And this song being about Harry does not make sense at all with the timeline of when they started dating and when this song was written. The speculation that it was about Harry started when Taylor got an award for this song and she thanked the person who inspired this song "who knows exactly who he is" in her acceptance speech and the cameras cut to Harry in the audience. In my opinion, it was just bad timing that they cut to him the moment she said that.
For simplify only. This is what the streets are saying about the person that inspired the albums: 1. Joe Alwyn: (reputation, Lover, folklore, evermore) 2. Harry Styles (1989) 3. Jake Gyllenhaal (RED) 4. John Mayer, Taylor Lautner (Speak Now) 5. Joe Jonas (Fearless) 6. A regular guy named Drew (Taylor Swift)
For me, the re-recordings are so much better mainly because of how her vocal abilities have matured. In her earlier stuff, there was always an element of shrillness, where she was hitting all the notes, but they sounded thinner. She’s much more aware now of her vocal capacities and her strength has only grown so that when she hits those higher notes now, they are way more filled out. It all just sounds smoother and more powerful.
All Taylor's Versions sound very similar but also different and so much better... I don't know how to sum it up but that's just how we feel.. I guess it's because of her matured vocals and increase in production values... on a serious note Girl At Home from Red is one song where she changed the production very much to a noticeable level...
I actually prefer the version she did in her 1989 World Tour. It is completely different from the original version. If it were a movie I'd say it's darker, edgier, has some mystery and suspense to it. You have to see it dude. It'd be cool if you reacted to the entire 1989 World Tour but if you can't and you'd rather react to just that version from that concert then that's cool too. But just know, she does change the sound to her own songs and they are bangers. That's why it's always fun to watch her concert tours. Such a badass performer.
The Red album came out around the time Roberts kom passed away and I rocked that shit non stop. Reputation came out when I was going through divorce and I rocked that even harder!!!!
Taylor's Versions are as close as legally possible to the originals. The one exception so far is Girl At Home that's very different in production to the original in RED. It's still not the strongest song but it's so so much better
She pretty much copycats her original version. The point is to devalue her originals because they were sold without her input when she wanted to buy them herself AND provide her fans guilt-free versions to enjoy because many were torn between basically boycotting her back catalog and supporting the people who sold/bought her masters.
almost all taylor's version are similar to the originals but still you can hear the differences in the production, the vocals, her voice sounds more mature now and some people even say the feels to them are different! i honestly prefer the taylors version because now she owns her work! great reaction and please, do more taylor reactions
I love how in the 3rd chorus the singing is monotone and the screaming and different lyrics she singing in the background give it the feels of a different chorus
I heard it was about Harry Styles and Jake Gyllenhaal too. I love Taylor's ROCK version of "I knew you were trouble" while she played an electric guitar, during her 1989 Tour!!
@@melandloloveholo2519I also don't listen to country that much but I liked her and used to randomly listen to her in her earlier eras but after Miss Americana documentary I became a full blown swiftie surging like a rocket 🚀❤
These "Taylor's version" songs are meant to devalue the original stolen version. They are intentionally made to sound as close as possible so no one would say "but i prefer the original one so I'm gonna listen to that". People still buy the album because Taylor included all the deluxe tracks AND "From the Vault" songs, referring to songs she had written back in the days but never released because the time didn't fit.
Girl at home (stolen version) and Girl at home (Taylor's version) are so different. Girl At home (Taylor's Version) is more pop and the stolen version is more country. You should react to it
I don’t think this is about Harry because they dated after this album came out so more of her songs on 1989 are about him. Especially the song Style. I think she’s trying to keep the new versions as close to the original as possible because she’s trying to get ownership of her old song so having them the same would be what she would need.
She tries to keep pretty much the same because she wants people to use her version of the song instead. One of the songs that was changed was Girl at home. It is really good now.
This song was iconic, and it still is. So different from her music before this. It was a bit edgy and very pop. I love how she sings I knew you were trouble. Her voice sounds immaculate and one day when I move out I will have a door mat that says "I knew you were trouble when you walked in. And when I'm married it'll be changed to "This is our place, we make the rules"
The Taylor's Versions and the original almost sounds the same but different. Different in the sense that her vocals are more stronger and deeper than it was back then. Also the emotion behind it. In the originals ones, there's that feeling of her singing the songs with emotion that she's just experienced, whereas the Taylor's Versions are more like her looking back and reminiscing. It's just my take on it, listening to the album. The original versions are raw, Taylor's Versions are more reminiscent.
So, it's not so much related to this song, but I stumbled across you from one of your reactions to Bo Burnham, and it led me down a four hour rabbit hole of your reactions, definitely earned a subscriber and I'll mention you to friends, but a song that you should cover side by side with its cover is Zombie by the cranberries, and then its cover by bad wolves, with the symbolism of the original videos being super deep and the lyrics hit hard in the age of conflict we live in. I'm definitely a huge fan now
Hey Jonathan, glad to hear it! Someone actually just requested "Zombie" by the cranberries on Patreon haha if it doesn't get blocked I may post it here on YT
I believe it is , cause she and harry met , then he left her and went back to London -I think he was dating atm- and then they got back together , you see it in style , message in the bottle , Comeback be here , Treacherous and this song . all about harry .. I also think Everything Has Change and Begin Again also about Harry
@@tiffmed3780 I do see Harry in her "from the vault" songs, especially Message in the bottle, The very first night and Come back be here, but IKYWT was released before they officially got together, it wouldnt make sense for her to sing about him being a trouble but still goes out with him AND remain friends with him afterwards till now. Also, the lyric "flew my to places i've never been" might be about Jake flying her to the premiere (?) or to where he was shooting Love and Other drugs at the time. and she might alr knew he was trouble since the beginning (?), when they were at his sister"s house the very first week together. and i say "or John Meyer" cuz i remember when the MV first came out ppl were saying how the male lead gave the "John Meyer vibe" lol and it stuck with me 😅
@@nvmai102 They have met back in March 2012 .. and that's where songs like MITB and CBBH are about , as well as IKYWT .. but they started dating in November of that year
@@tiffmed3780 yes they met before BUT like i said, it wouldnt make sense for her to call him trouble and sing "a new notch in your belt is all I'll ever be" before dating the guy, and even "i heard you moved on" (which clearly about how Jake found a new gf quickly after their split). also the description "No apologies /He'll never see you cry/ Pretend he doesn't know That he's the reason why You're drowning" fits Jake"s character (or the guy in the ATW short film) 1989 was about Harry and since it was after their breakup it made sense how she sang "i heard you were out and about with some girl" in Style because they had alr split up then.
She gave an interview where the said the person who inspired the song was at her Brits performance of it. I agree the timeline is off given public info, but we don’t know what happened earlier that year?
Oh, the goat meme . . . I remember those days . . . 😄 And I always thought this song was about John Mayer, especially with the lyric, "Flew me to places I've never been" & the fact that she regrets the whole relationship . . . Especially after we got "Could've, Would've, Should've" off of Midnights 😊 Also she DID change up one of her songs . . . "Girl At Home". TBH, I don't really like the change that much . . . I like th OG one WAY better, but that's just my opinion . . . A lot of people seem to really love the new one . . . 🤔
I love that people do think alot of Taylors version sounds similar because Im just trying to prove that they did steal my work, but honestly I didnt know how long they were stealing it for. The music was made by a studio made AI version of me. I was fighting for my own shit, but it really is so much bigger than that
People are wrong about who this song is about, because people forget the chronology of things, first Harry and Taylor started flirting and getting to know each other in March 2012 when Taylor was still producing Red. But it hasn't been more than a month since a photo leaked. A photo of Harry kissing an ex of his (who was years older than him), shortly after this photo leaked he and Taylor cut contact and she added it to the album Treacherous and IKYWT, as both tracks mention the same person (Harry) and Taylor has openly talked about the two tracks being a sequel to the other. Treacherous talking about the period when they met and that they were having something, like what they had was risky, dangerous and captivating at the same time and right after we have IKYWT saying "so it didn't last much longer than a month and I can't blame him." because I knew you were trouble." Soon after 06 months, in September 2012, they started talking again, started dating and stayed together until December 2012. In How You Get The Girl, Taylor says: "tell her it's been 06 months", from March to September, how many months? exactly 06. The 1989 era doesn't come right after as people think, at least not chronologically, it happened during the launch of Red, so people get confused. And yes, most of Red is about Jake, but not all of them, people should get that out of their head.
From what I know this song is NOT about Harry Styles, its mostly believed to be about Jake Gyllenhaal (much like most of the red album) 'Style' and 'Out of the woods' from 1989 are definitely about Harry though
Some of her stolen version songs were too perfect like " trouble" so it would be inappropriate to change them in her owned version that's why she re-recorded most of them in the same way
me trying not to say that the whole Haylor thing was a PR stunt xd Btw, actually people say that Style is about Harry (Cos.. Styles... Style, idk xd)... but in the case of I knew you were trouble... it just don't make sense that it was about H cos when this song was released i think they were starting(?) they "relationship" it's temporarily impossible... but it could be about John Mayer idk
Taylor never says who she writes songs (not the names of her exes yk) and this is not about harry because at that time, when this song came out, they weren't dating, they dated when the mv came out but ofc the song is not about harry styles
I knew you were trouble is not about Harry Styles. The dates do not add up for it to be about Harry, Red came out October 22 2012. While rumors about Harry and Taylor started in November 2012. So how could I knew you were trouble be about Harry if they had just gotten together? It couldn’t.
In order to re-record your masters, it has to be veeeeerry similar to the original. It’s a requirement. The only changes are because, contractually, she can’t record them *exactly* the same. 🥰✨
Can you do a reaction to Your Power by Billie EilIsh. I love your reactions and the way you listen to the lines and talk about them. I think this is a great song that you’d like.
i also heard that this song is about Harry. but im so confussed!! i thought that even if it didn't work out, they have had a good relationship! so what is this song?? did he cheated on her? what the heck happened??
I am gobsmacked that yet another person seemingly fail to grasp the concept of multiple songs being inspired by the same person. No wonder Taylor got her dating reputation if the attitude of listeners is that one person = one song... Referencing your reasoning; "...but I thought OOTW was about Harry, then who is IKYWT about..?". Disclaimer - I do not think IKYWT is inspired by Harry, that is not the point I am making.
Taylor didn’t get together with Harry till after this album. Of course she never actually says who the songs are about but most of red is about her relationship with jake Gyllenhaal. Of course, again, speculation.
