Taylor Schabusiness Trial: Prosecutor Details Gruesome Drug-Fueled Beheading, Abuse of Victim

Taylor Schabusiness is on trial for the murder of Shad Thyrion, who she’s accused of strangling and beheading before abusing him and dismembering the rest of his body. “The choice was to utterly degrade him after the fact,” Wisconsin prosecutor Caleb Saunders said. “The evidence in this case is clear, the choice she made is clear. The evidence will show she is guilty.” The murder allegedly took place inside Thyrion’s mother's house in Green Bay in February 2022.

It’s not that he wasn’t dramatic enough, but when it comes to an opening statement, the main thing is to get the point across and set the stage for the trial. Also to captivate the jury/judge on the situation which will make them question an look into the side (prosecutor or defendant). But I do admit he did get the points across, but would need to work a little on his speaking. He looks young and will have room to grow more as a lawyer :D

The court won't allow one to plead guilty to a felony charge that carries a life sentence. They make the case go to trial. At least that's how it is in Michigan.

I think people say that not because they want to enjoy the story (although some probably want to) but I think they say that because a jury ultimately decides her faith, so him making it sound like a normal walk in the park doesn’t do the victim justice! That’s just my opinion though. Nonetheless even him telling it like a walk in the park makes it disgusting 🤢 may his soul find peace.

It's not about it being fun, it's about it being compelling. If you're putting jurors to sleep, confusing them, and so on, you're going to throw your case. There's a reason why Casey Anthony got off and it isn't because the evidence wasn't stacked against her. Her lawyer knew how to out charisma every other lawyer in the room

Death penalty is mercy. We don't have stockades or public hanging. It's a group of injections were they quietly go to sleep. I'm sure some countries still stone people to death, but here in the US we think it's immoral to kill monsters, but it's OK to kill babies.

the nightmares some poor parents endure when monsters like this destroy their children :( I can't even entertain the idea of something like this befalling my family without feeling ill. Anyone intrigued by this case should look up the case of Katherine Knight. She is the only woman in Australian history to be given life without parole. There is a great documentary. She was a butcher at a local abattoir who made a real project out of the corpse of her boyfriend after she butchered him to death. She skinned him, decapitated him, cooked his head in a pot, and boiled his flesh and prepared it on plates to serve to his unknowing children.

Seems more a kindness by the prosecutor to spare everyone the gory details in his opening, as no doubt, he's going to lay out _exactly_ what she did during the trial with witnesses, photos, etc.

A schooled tone of voice. Professional. No drama no influencing just talking normally. But it could be much more impactfull/dramatic trying to manipulate with his voice just by taking it on the edge of yelling this vould be maximum impact to the jury. But in this case he knows its not needed.

Pay attention. 1. They were on drugs 2. She strangled him probably when he was already passed out from drugs 3. When he died she started to cut his head off. Plus parents were upstairs more than likely asleep, possibly watching TV in thier room or sleeping with sounds on like a Alexa.
