What are your thoughts on Lioness? Did you like the series? Do you think it has the potential to replace Yellowstone? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
Have you watched the champions of women’s MMA? Then you know they are capable of physically destroying most humans walking this earth under certain conditions. They are not anonymous anymore. This story IS BASED off an actual program.
I don’t think it can replace Yellowstone but I really love the show so far. It’s a very good show and my husband and I can’t wait for see the next episode.
After watching the Terminal List, Lioness has certainly been entertaining, but it's a huge streeeeeeeetch for the super heroin soldiers they are trying to portray. Some realism would do wonders.
19 pull-ups, 3 for a women is very good. 50 push up, such bs. They making to the men and women have the same strength. Feminist clap trap is what itnis
The show is great. Taylor is one hell of a writer, And he’s able to draw you into the characters seamlessly. Being a fan of someone doesn’t mean you’re going to like everything they do. Let’s give it time, Or least get through half of the season first. Many of my favorite Tv series didn’t start out too great but ended up being amazing. The same could happen here. Hope you enjoy your week, :)
This show is based and grounded, "There are always someone stronger" is more true to life than" You can be whatever you want". Sometimes when a show is disconnected to reality and delusional, nothing's at stake and it becomes a joke regardless of the story or genre.
I am a really big fan of Taylor Sheridan but he is letting his fans down - 1 show at a time. He started Yellowstone and that is going by the wayside quick. Then he started the prequel to Yellowstone 1883 and then the other prequel 1923, Toledo King, Mayor of Kingstown and now Special Ops Lioness and they're all hanging. I watched the Sons of Anarchy whole series and own all the seasons. I own or have watched most of the movies he's written. I love watching his cutting horses and the competitions but am scared to start the 6666 series because I'm afraid that it'll go down the tube. Why doesn't he just do movies - he seems to do better at completing them.
He didn't put Yellowstone on the wayside. There is a few reasons why Yellowstone is being delayed. There's a writer's and actor strike going on which is causing problems for a lot of shows. Then there is Kevin Costner, he's pretty much abandoned the show so that is a big part of the problem. Taylor is doing a fantastic job especially with this new series and mayor of kingstown. He's only working with what he's got. Yellowstone is not over just delayed.
without getting into politics have to say Taylor Sheridan really knows the formula of making entertaining shows, this one included.. wish all episodes were released so I could just binge it,, can't wait for ep4!!
You’re comparing it way too much to Yellowstone. They’re totally different shows. And their settings have a lot to do with that also. On its own, this show is a great spy action thriller that puts our main 2 leads in some positions where they have to make tough decisions
The man has to get in his Hollywood points 😂 the use of lead women felt forced. But what I truly appreciated was the peeling back of the true reason behind war.
This stacks up with Sicario with Emily Blunt, and Homeland with Claire Danes. Lioness Season 1 was AHHHMAZING period. Just enjoy the series without thinking about the politics of it.
This show is so ridiculous... How is it that they can come up with a show? But they can't come up with season five of yellowstone Or nineteen twenty three But yet they can come out with a new Show.... And I don't see this getting much ratings Actually I don't really see any of taylor sheridan shows Getting much ratings.... He pretty much abandoned us yellowstone Fans and family So I don't really get what's the point of this new Show....
How will we know when the next episodes are going to be released due to the strike? This is just getting started and we need to know more before judging.😮
Whoa one. Im conservative and unlike the lies being told a lot of us guys like strong females that kick butt. Cruz rocks and you need to hang out with some cool strong females more often
good to see am not getting too old and still have a clue. someone sees things same way i do. show seems like a cliche to me. why is nicole kidman's character even in this thing?
Lioness is one of the worst things I have watched in a while I will not finish the season. If you brains are slowly dripping out you ears then this might be the show for you. It obviously has a big budget and that is it. If you like a good narrative and believable characters avoid this sham.
I'm LOVING this series! Finally! A show where most of the women are badasses. Not military fru frus who never bleed, bruise or even stub their toe. Having been military connected for most of my life, I can appreciate this series.
You are 100% right about how they made it way too easy for her to befriend the terrorist's daughter. It seemed like such a baffling writing decision. They had an opportunity to create some good drama and character dynamics (rather than just action, action, action) by making her work harder to achieve that friendship and it could have been an interesting exploration of female friendship dynamics. Instead they did nothing with it and by episode 3 they have turned it into a cliche "plain awkward girl gets a makeover after befriending the cool rich girls" story, which could have been made interesting in its own way if it felt earned, but it all happened too quickly...not sure if I will continue this show. The pro-military angle doesn't really bother me since I have come to expect that from American media.
Ehmm I beg to disagree. If anything us women tend to become friends lightning fast sometimes. Plus they took interest in each other since the beginning in a more romantic way. The lesbian U-haul trope is sadly true for the most part😂 it actually makes a lot of sense that they became close FAST 😂
I think it really gives a wrapped view of close female relationships. Not everyone who has a best close friend has to end up in a homosexual relationship with them. This show had a bunch of stereo typical anti male undertones.
I didn’t want to devote any time to this show until the the whole series was available but you’re so right, major letdown, the whole 1883,1923 and Yellowstone are my favorites; even Kingstown was meh but wow this is what happens when you spread yourself out too much. A great movie that was done about covert women was a movie called Red sparrow, now that was a good movie . I likely won’t watch this but wanted to hear someone else steer me away.
Got to disagree. Nice to see good actresses playing strong yet flawed female characters. And I don’t see at all how Joe is John Dutton. John is all about family and the ranch, he sets his own moral code then holds this impossibly high bar for his children. Joe is barely hanging onto her family, and has realized their lives don’t revolve around her or her opinions. My favorite is the actress playing Cruz - she has great range. She really makes you feel when she’s in pain or struggling or scared. Excited to see where the show goes!
It is obvious they did not do a realistic job oh the initial meeting between Aaliyah and Cruz, just bump into someone in a store and instant friendship begins. No. But I forgive because they had to move things along. There were other miscues, but a tv show can’t move at the pace of real life. You’d be bored crazy and the shows would be endlessly long.
I liked the series overall. I wish the dialogue was better. The daughter was annoying, and the parenting or lack thereof was so bad and unrealistic. Also, the casting of the Cruz character was puzzling. She's supposed to be physically strong, but it's apparent she isn't. Her arms were shaking when she was doing pushups with her skinny arms. But like I said, I still like it.
I like what you said about the filters and production value, but you are dead wrong. The real value is in episode three; it's one of the best shows on TV. The exchange between Nicole Kidman and her husband speaks about the media so accurately that I am using the analysis in one of my books. Your bias from your education is coming out in your analysis. Watch episode 3. You've got a good head; use it. Turn down the hyper-criticism and turn up the messaging filtration. The writer is commenting on US society from pillar to post in his shows, examining everything from gang violence to the war on terror. He has explored Yellowstone and said what he needed to say. The rest is just you all wanting more. Be empathetic to the creator; as an artist, he wants to put down one painting and start another. The issues and themes he wants to explore as a writer do not change the yellow filters and bombed-out decertified lenses that the rest of the team views the Middle East from. Just remember, everyone is smarter than they have been given credit for. This is the arrogance of the West that he is exposing. The operative in the show is smarter than we think, and the playmaker Nicole Kidman is rebuked by her husband for poisoning the media with so much messaging that the truth is no longer believed. That is an important message.
Its waaaaay to early to judge a new show like Lioness to a fully established show like Lioness. My first impressions however are very positive. The way the main character is tortured is positively ambivalent. The setup with her befriending the terrorists' wife so easily is admittedly a bit constructed, but compared to Mission Impossible this show is outright realistic. I am expecting more moral ambivalence and grey areas as the show progresses, and could see it not as clear-cut Pro American/Islamophobic as you make it out to be. But of course that is hard to say after 2 episodes.
I am a diehard fan of Yellowstone. When you have your hand into many pots you are not concentrating on any. Sheridan is a big disappointment. I will not watch anything he produces anymore. Turning off the tv is my best choice of anything he puts on tv.😮
Does anyone ever think that just maybe Nicole Kidman is just a pretty face and has no talent? I cant remember 1 movie where i was like WOW NK killed it. Maybe the Interpreter and dojt say Eyes wide shut cause that was all Tom.
LOL. I will give people the Cliff's Notes version of this "review". "This show is terrible because it doesn't embrace the liberal politically correct agenda for 2023..." This is all I need to tell me that this will be a massive hit. I look forward to starting it probably tonight. Nothing sells something better than a whiney liberal bitching that it isn't liberal enough for them.
It's a fcuking cartoon with women pretending to be bad ass special ops soldiers and little or no consideration for how actual operations are conducted. Entertaining yes, but it basically a a somewhat woke comic book thus far.
I dont know what the term is when you try to re-represent history, but thats what it is. Its nothing more then garbage. The show needed to add soft core fetish porn to make up for its lack of substance. You can see the same content on a porn site.
Sheridan obviously made his choice so now I'm gonna make mine. Click. Yeah that's me changing the channel and forgetting Sheridan's name. GOODBYE & GOOD RIDDANCE Drunken Soldiers don't move me at ALL❤️🧡💛💚🩵💜
Sheridan writes VERY entertaining stuff. BUT. His female characters are excruciating. Beth Dutton. Monica. The buckle bunnies. Emily Blunt in Sicario. Some of the worst characters in tv and film history. Monica might be the worst character of all time to be honest.
