To avoid any confusion... "The 1989 World Tour" is just the name of the tour. This performance happened in 2015, as it is stated in the description and on the video itself (0:13). Why is that the name? Taylor named her fifth studio album, "1989", after her year of birth, therefore, that was the name given to her forth headlining tour, in support of this album. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
I love how Taylor invites very well known singers & in no way shape or form does she ever try to out do them, she shows the utmost respect to those singers, I think it's awesome.
I've heard Alison's voice described as hauntingly beautiful, and I agree.😊 I've heard a lot of songs in my 64 years, but When You Say Nothing At All by Alison Krauss is in my top 5.
also, let me touch you for awhile, whiskey lullaby, baby mine, baby now that i found you... her voice is incomparable. As signature as dolly, reba, martina, trisha etc
Taylor is a excellent vocalist. That being said she can't hold a candle to Alison Krauss. This song always brings tears to people eyes. Thanks Ladies for covering it. Truly Awesome!!!!!!!!
There are no vocalists alive today who can match Alison. On her worst day, she sounds almost human. On her best days, which most are, she's totally goddess-like!
It is not often Taylor would get over matched by better vocal talents that she has but there is no doubt she could never surpass Alison Krauss's signature song which after 32 years still holds strong she just allowed her to do the whole saw while she played piano.
As much as I love Ta Ta, and believe me, I love Ta Ta, she and no other female country artist can hold a candle to the beautiful talented Allison Krauss. That’s why the crowd went bananas when she came out. What a great tribute to AK, and, Ta knew her place on that stage.
I AGREE. ALLISON IS A VERY BEYOND GIFTED AND TALENTED ARTIST. WHAT SHINES BRIGHTLY IS HER HUMILITY. SHE DOES NOT HAVE TO SAY A WORD AND SHE GETS SUCH A POSITIVE RESPONSE. THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES!
You know the concert was awesome when u can hear the crowd over the performer... and still to this day... chills and tears... this song is all time one of my favorites...
I don't like Swift's music but by all accounts she's a class act, and letting Allison get the cheers from the fans and recognizing her for her amazing voice was a class act.
I'm watching all of these awesome performances on this channel and have come to believe that Taylor only goes on tour so she can hang out with and perform with some of the greatest artists of all time. So thank you Miss Swift.
This song was adopted by me back in 1997 when I was pregnant and on full bedrest waiting on the birth of my baby son. To me it was a love song between him and me. I lost him last year and miss him everyday. I loved hearing it as a duet with Taylor & Allison 🫶🏽
Allison GOAT, a friend played w her for years they came up together. Has nothing but praise of her as an artist n person. He also says she has a sense of humor that would make a truck driver blush. Perfect
What is wrong with you people? Music is not a competition. It's a conversation! Taylor is one on the most respectful singers I can think of. Near the end, she raises her hands, as if to say "Make some noise!". Then, Taylor gives it all to Alison and steps back.
I love this song and have like 10 versions on my computer. This is beautiful. Their voices blend so well, like family. I'm so glad the crowd gave mad and proper props to Allison, too.
I just watched that again and I have tears streaming down my face. I don't know why. I'm 60 sixty damned years old. Thank you so much I have to take another listen to Miss Swift.
@@marywatkins6798 I used to like to make fun of Taylor, but I was wrong. I'm a 65 year old guy. Her songs aren't written for me. I do love her songs Mean and Safe and Sound.
first, kudos to prolific and talented songwriters Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz. Second kudos to Taylor Swift for bringing so many A list performers up to perform duets. A bit risky when you include such amazing singers/performers as Mick Jagger and Alison Kraus. Am a 20 + years fan of Alison Kraus - one of of the top 5 female Grammy award winners at 27 awards. No slouch when it comes to collaborations - the list is long - including 2 albums with Robert Plant! Glad to hear Alison get the kind of reception she deserves and a LOT rowdier than she is used to. The performance was sublime and especially impressed with the kind of respect that TS showed onstage during the performance. This clip is a keeper!
I think, Taylor Swift is not just an accomplished performer, singer, and songwriter, and beauty, but, she can play her piano and guitar!!!! She is a musician!!! thanks for the video!
Wow. Taylor was just was just wonderful on stage with Allison. Ive seen other duo's that tried to upstage or out sing their guest performer, but Taylor did not pull any of these diva tricks. How very refreshing. Well played.
No one sings like allison krauss. Allison has the greatest voice ever. Just my opinion though. My wife and i danced to this at our wedding, but it was a mashup of allison and the original, from keith whitley. Truly the greatest duet of all time of this song.
I became a big fan of Alison Krauss way back in the early 90s when she played at Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival in Ancramdale, NY. She was very young and she blew everyone away.
The great thing about Taylor is just that’s she’s super humble and talented and, so she can appreciate the talents of other artists and that doesn’t intimidate her, she’s always sharing the stage with other great artists.
Alison seemed so nervous out there but she nailed her performance. She’s a legend and I like her music too. Taylor sang the song well too, I only hope she had a studio cover version.
Allison is such a humble and modest girl and I'm sure she was nervous being/ singing with Taylor, but as always she was the very best. She's not compared to an angel singing for no reason. Always awesome Allison ❤❤❤
I love this song. Heard it riding a bus one day years ago. It stuck in my head. I sang it at karaoke a lot. My friend who started me on karaoke loved that song too. This is an awesome collaboration! I'm frustrated though as many times as Taylor has been here she can't get a special guest. Unless she had somebody for Speak Now which I missed. 😞
2 Storytelling song writers. Neither of them have the absolute greatest voices. They both have the voices they need for their songs to be heard, related to, and enjoyed. James Taylor has a smooth, soft voice. Taylor fits her voice to the songs she sings. I think if people only hear her radio hits, they have no idea of all the different genres she has created in.
I used this song for the background of my son's wedding slideshow video. It blended perfectly with all the pictures I strung together of this young couple.
I'm an unexpected fan or Allison & Taylor, BUT I am a Performing MUSICIAN 40+ Of ALL Genres. This Performance really "GOT ME" when I recently can across it. "TRUE FAN of BOTH NOW!"
I can simply not understand all the negative things being said about Taylor Swift. Everything I have researched indicates that she is a genuinely nice lady. She seems to treat people with a great deal of respect, which is a trait sadly lacking from many other so called "A-Listers". I wish her all the success in the world, seems to me that she's earned it!
Wow, didn’t know Taylor covered this! Keith Whitley was the original, Allison Krause brought about, hopefully Taylor brings it to the masses! Most beautiful song!
